Should i go and get the H1N1 vaccination?

Knuckleslammer

If you have neurological disorders you're supposed to consult your doctor first before getting a flu shot (regardless of H1N1). That doesn't necessarily apply to other vaccines. Its something with how the vaccine interacts with the nervous system.
Yeah, coupled with the fact that there is NO PROOF that the vaccine even works, H1N1 or the FLU vaccine. Complete rubbish, fueled by the media and absorbed by the sheeple.

When did you become an MD specializing in vaccination?

The mercury in a shot is the same as can of tuna only it takes your body five times longer to excrete the mercury from fish because its a different type of mercury. There is even more mercury in a fresh tuna or swordfish steak so if you want to be tinfoil hat "safe", you'll give up fish before vaccinations.

If you have any tattoos, you have been exposed the same preservative. Its been in use for over 80 years and has been administer literally billions of times with a proven safety record. Vaccinations have saved millions of lives though misinformation like yours has probably canceled that out:rolleyes:

If you're concerned about the Merc, you can get a "fresh" vaccine with no preservative.
If you are in contact with large numbers of people thru either work or school, I would get one. Vaccines only work if enough of the population is inoculated that the disease can't find carrier. ie, if 10% of kids don't get their MMR because their parents are freaks, then Mumps can take hold.

If you are unemployed and sit at home all day, your risk of exposure is low.

I have not gotten one. My employer offers them free to employees, but in order to get the shot, I'd have to drive a couple miles across town. I don't have that kind of time.

Just to play devil's advocate here, there is no proof that this vaccine DOESN'T work (to the best of my knowledge).

seriously...that girl has something going on bigger than the flu shot......its the exact shame shot they have always administered just with a different virus in it.
Signs point to psychogenic problems unrelated to the vaccine, just like our friend Knuckleslammer;)

you may want to read up on your Victorian-era history for a refresher on how inoculation, then vaccination came into the light:

We didn't get access to it this year. Usually my employer gets all the newest vaccines for staff. I got the regular flu shot. I work so closely with kids, I'll get vaccinated for anything that I can get my hands on. Actually just re-upped on my DTap. No ****ing Whooping Cough for me.

I wouldnt get it man. Swine flu really isnt a big threat at all, and there are lots of really bad side effects of the vaccine that lots of people dont know about.

had h1n1. not as bad as they say.
Oh yeah? My good friend DIED from H1N1 on October 1st. She was 28 years old and in fine health. No underlying conditions, and she was fit and in shape.

So it IS as bad as they say, despite YOUR experience.

To those of you that say it's not that bad or not a threat, Fvck you! Fvck you up your stupid asses.

Please enlighten us.
it can cause Guillain-Barre Syndrome, paralysis, and other random adverse reactions. Although these arent commone side effects by any means, I dont really think its worth the risk unless you are commonly in a lot of situations where you would be exposed to the flu. I guess it's just all about weighing the risk. I would rather not take "medicine" for something unless I need to.
Also, my girlfriends mother got Guillain-Barre Syndrome a couple months ago and almost died so it kinda hits close to home.

Two hundred years of scientific and medical research, concrete proven effectiveness against childhood diseases (ask you parents if old enough otherwise your grandparents), WHO, CDC, AMA (and other equivalent medical organizations in countries around the world), thousands of studies and articles in professional peer reviewed journals. All clearly show vaccinations have saved countless lives over the years and prevented illness.

Your non-sense from the Internet and the tinfoil hat crowd has no merit whatsoever - there is no creditable/recognized source to backup your claims or knuckleslammer where as the complete opposite is true despite your empty claims to the contrary.

The quack at the center of the autism controvesy was full of ****. Proven self interest reasons only, he was being paid by families with autism. Dr Wakefield was found guilty of using fake data and has been scientifically disproven countless times. Vaccines do not cause autism - end of story in the courts and in medical studies.

Prove it.
it can cause those things… at a very small rate. nothing is perfectly safe.

the rational decision to take it acknowledges these risks which are grave but happen very rarely, and balances them against the high probability that it'll allow your immune system to ward off H1N1 more effectively.

unfortunately rational thinking is hard to come by these days.

H1N1 hit this area hard a few months ago. Seems to have run it's course. It put a serious hurt on some of my friends. Can people catch it again? If not I'm guessing the chances of it coming back with any force are slim.

I received a letter from the govt asking why I had not received my vacc yet.

I hadn't really thought about it until this point.

I get about 16 people staying at my chalet each week. Times 17 weeks of winter season. That's a lot of exposure. Add to that if I do actually get the swine flu, who the hell is going to cook in my place?

I think I'll go to the doc's. Then I'll let you know.

I agree with you, vaccines have saved lots of lives and lots of them are great. I never said anything about autism and I dont really think what I said was nonsense. The prouducers of the vaccines actually publish the side effects to vaccines. If you think they are claiming nonsense then I dont know why you would want to take their vaccine.

Also, I think the government is just trying to scare us so when they give us the vaccine they can send a little micro chip in our bodyies and track everything we do
