Here's some more dumb questions. I'm gonna get a Truvativ Blaze double crankset off ebay and I'm not entirely sure what kind of BB to get. I already looked on the Truvativ website and I'm not sure what exactly it is that I need. I do know I need a 68 by anything from 118-126mm's. I also thought about upgrading the bashguard. I'm pretty sure their removable chain rings so I'll remove the smallest ring and then put on a new bash guard. Does anyone think it would be worth upgrading the bash guard?
-Thanks.

you need the splined bottom bracket. i was also looking at this crankset. the one i was looking at came with a 32t top ring, and 22t as the second gear. as for the width dimensions of the bottom bracket. you need to look at your frame and ask the company who made it what size you need to get. the bashring is ok. depends on what type of riding your gonna do. if its hardcore riding, i doubt it will hold up. if anything get an e.13. problem is i dont think the truvativ blaze cranks are made for any tough riding only XC if im not mistaken.

You'r not mistaken I'm actually going to be dirt jumping and racing indy cross at diablo on them. I've found though that things hold up to more then what they are rated or recommended for. I spent the last two years dirt jumping on the most low end crankset shimano makes and had absouletly no problems with it. Just to make sure the chain rings are removable... right?

After looking into it more the Blaze is going to come out to more then I want price wise. I found a Truvativ Hussefelt crankset for 50 dollars. Is the BB for the Hussefelt like the Blaze or is it something different and what kind of tool is needed to install it? The Hussefelt is also alot better for what it will be used for.

IIRC the Blaze is "powerspline" and the Hussefelt is ISIS spline. You'll need either a Shimano or ISIS BB tool depending on what brand BB you get. Better to have the shop just install it for $15 or whatever since they'll grease it and make sure it goes in straight. If it's a one-time deal you'll spend way more on the tool anyways.
