My wife recently surprised me by buying a Kinetic Pro Trainer for my birthday.....and Valentine's Day......and next Christmas.....
I was able to ride it tonight for a little bit to get a feel for it. I could only stomach about 30 minutes after I snarfed two enchilads when I got home. My bad. I loved the trainer though. Very realistic feel and very quiet.
Anyways, it didn't take more than 10 minutes for me to realize that riding a trainer is UNBELIEVABLY boring. Watching Man vs. Wild does nothing to keep you motivated, and it was getting a little to late to crank up any music. I currently reside in KC and there is no chance at riding outside for a while.
Would anyone be able to give me a 4/6/8/12 week training program, or point me in the direction to get some workouts to follow? I know if I don't follow some kind of program I probably won't get in shape before the spring. Unfortunately I haven't rode seriously in a couple months, but would like to spend these long dark evenings getting in shape before the spring and summer. I'm probably not in good enough shape to just jump into some insane 2 hour long hammer-fest on trainer, but would like to work up to that. I'm more looking for something that starts slow and builds.
Any advice?
