getting nasty up at my place, lots of rain in the past 2 days lots more to come in the next two and they are predicting winds of between 70 and 80 mph tonight. We lost power this morning but I have a 5500Kw generator that should do just nicely as long as no big trees fall through the house although I do believe we cut down all the ones that could take out the house last summer but....

Had to drive over the golden gate this am. winds were around 60+. Scary as hell. Roadway had about an inch of water, with gusting crosswinds. Traffic was very spaced out and driving around 25mph, but getting blow across lanes still. One of the hardest drives I have done in a long time.

Its just too bad Socal cannot absorb ti fast enought for it to do any good for us. No power or heat today for a little over three hours, big lightning strike at the ELe Dist center killed about 20K homes for there power. I am told there was a tornado close by as well, just cannot find any news about it.

It was coming down pretty bad, I m extra glad I wasnt at work today.

Yeah, you can borrow the ark, but gas it up.

Santa Barbara is NERVOUS. So many burn areas, so little vegetation to hold soil in place.... Its a recipe for some good landslides and general chaos. When you add in the fact that two of my favorite trails are IN the burn area, sh*t. The mountains behind sb really squeeze the rain out on the front country..

it's raining and the wind is a pleasant 20mph. I can't believe that out of 10 houses in my neighborhood up here on the ridgeline 15 miles out of town only two of us own generators

I have heat, light, internet, and Satellite TV

they have a wood fire and candles....

more power to em LOL

Is your generator providing power to your entire house? If so, how did you wire that up?

Out near Downtown San Jose it's been pretty bad. My wife and I rent an old house circa early 1900-1910) and there's a puddle a-brewin' in our backyard that threatens to dump down into our basement and laundry room.

You guys are never happy....."Ah! the countryside is on fire!" "Ahh! It's raining too much! I wish the countryside were on fire!"

jeez.
Every time I went to california the locals would always profusely apologize claiming the weather was usually perfect and was never hot/cold/rainy/windy/smokey although it was always hot/cold/rainy/windy/firey during the hot/cold/rainy/windy/firey seasons.

Stay safe you freaks.

Don't worry I didn't want to stay, too many ****ing people. I was just visiting for work. They always thought I was in a hurricane/blizzard/tornado/meteor impact here at home.

SO true! Tunnel is going to be utterly destroyed. CS/SY should not be that bad though. Only reason I'm happy we're getting rain is because of the snow up at Big Bear and Mt. High. Going to be time for an awesome session at Mt. High tomorrow and then Sat. night after practice in Fontana...and maybe Sunday after my race run :P

Otherwise, I'd hate the rain.
