So I've got a line on a super monster. I know, I just can't help myself. Short of an apocalypse, what other awful frames could I put it on? Preferably cheap, old, and undesirable....and lots of travel.

What? Did you sell your BMW? ;) I kid...I kid.

Remember the original RM9 that came out in the mid to late 90s? It was Kawasaki green and black, had a small rear shock but 9" of travel and weighed a ton. If you are looking for a POS w/a lot of travel, there you go. :thumb:

I'm pretty sure there was a czech company building ridiculously overbuild frames for pretty low. I'd check them out. If that not than canfield fatty fat or the old overbuild gearboxed nicolai whatever it's name was. Though it will probably be hard to find but it looked awesome

I did once (in the UK) see a Big Hit (24" rear) with Super Monsters... now that was slack to the point of being unridable.

I think that was Elbry Sandlands I think...he also ran a 24-seven 4x-slopestyle proto with the supermonster. Ridiculous fork, just need a richi frame for it to go on and you'll be set

Off-Topic: Does anybody remember that really short dude that used to ride Whistler all the time on the Astrix Havoc with SuperMonsters??? You'd laugh at him and he'd get sooo aggro on you. I think it was like 2005 or 2006. He was there almost every time I went and I had like 25 days each season.

I found one on eBay awhile ago, put it on a Banshee Scream. That bike was huge, 24's front and rear with 3" tires. Even had a 48 spoke Funn front wheel. DJ'd and did some drops with it, it did fine as long as you didn't have to turn. To manual it, you just had to lean back and the bike would tip back.

After the Banshee, I put it on my Apocalypse. That was better, it actually handled ok for how big/heavy/awkward it was. I did some trail riding with it, but that ended when I clipped the extended lowers on a rock and ended up checking a boulder with my shoulder. I kinda wish I still had it sometimes, because it was just so ridiculous. I remember when I first put it on the Apocalypse and rode to meet some friends, all the hikers just had this look of horror, I think that bike was their worst nightmare.

I ended up selling it to some kid who lived in the Ukraine. I'll see if I can pull up the pics tonight.

Ok, found a pic of my Karpiel, let's see if I can find one of the Banshee.

That's pretty much what I was thinking of. The apoc is the only bike that seems to make that fork look remotely normal. Too bad they're hard to find. Actually, the nicoLOL works pretty well too.

??? Hookworms ???

This bike blows my mind on so many levels...

Great thread!
I had Hookworms on my Apocalypse pictured above for a bit, but I rode it on some urban rides...yeah I don't know what that was all about.

Funny story - my LBS had a demo day for Bionicon. Well, I had that monster with me. I put it next to all their demo bikes. The rep saw it and was like WTF is that THING?! Everyone wanted to know more about my bike than the demos...haha.

Sandwich - they are very hard to find. I had two, the red one picture above and a blue one with a sparkly gold seatmast. The red one had Fox shocks, but the blue one came with the original Risse dampers. The Blue one actually turned out to be Vic Marlow's old bike - I was watching the video Union and noticed that the bike sitting in my living room was the same one on the screen. Thought that was pretty cool.

I've since sold both of them, but I would love to have a new one.
