It's gonna be amazing build, congrats! :)
I love hubs... because the weight ;)
But the only color of 951 that suits me, is Raw :)

My 2010 Giant Glory thus far.

Very nice bike :) Let us know, how CCBD works on Glory, pls.
Not a big fan of gold components, but the go well with the silver frame, though :)

Good luck with the Tune hubs. I have read way too many accounts of them falling apart with trail bike use...besides weight savings in a hub is essentially non-rotating, so the benefit will be limited to the internet.

Well half of it is rotating and half is unsprung mass so they're pretty high up the list of weight saving priorities :p

However hubs failing is not something I'd like to happen!

Rotation with ~zero radius... ~= non rotating mass. They are unsprung mass and that is a good thing, but IMO we are WELL beyond the ability for a human to notice a difference.

Are we at the point now where riders will be washing the dirt off their bikes and scrubbing the tires every 100 yards to reduce mass and 'increase performance'? Cutting off all tire knobs/treads will save both large radius rotating mass AND unsprung weight...

Companies keep making crappy underbuilt components because people keep buying them.

So you are saying the Tune King Kong hubs will fail like a monkey on the top empire state building

Can you back off the B-tension at all so the derailleur sits where it should? Or is that an issue of the dropout design?

I didn't see that at Laguna today did I? There was a works blue Intense with a white Boxxer and Crossmax SXs in the back of a truck heading up the hill. Couldn't see what model, since all I could see was the headtube.

this is Bryan's bike.. he also has the 30lb Socom you all were bitching about last year.

I doubt you saw it at Laguna.

Here are some updated pictures of the bike. Sorry it's not super pro with Flashes and Better Homes and Gardens grass. But I think it works.

As it sits it is 38 on the head, with tubes and Heavy'ish DH tires.

Have you modded it?
No mods at all. Set it up with the wide setup and it worked like a charm. One gold spacer I believe?

Yup, it is the decline test track. The only dude that has ever thrown a shovel on that trail was Griz...so that affiliation should be null and void. Claimers:rolleyes:

I think he's asking about the srs+ and the saint810 cranks...
you can use them both, it just won't be ideal. you need to use an aftermarket chainring and supposedly it will be "good enough" but not ideal.

I have had ZERO issues with that setup. If there is an issue, then I was graced with the luck of not having any problems. I have had this setup for a few months and not one dropped chain. I am using an E.thirteen guidering in conjunction with that setup and maybe that is why I have had some luck. I can say though that it was a breeze to setup, and it setup to be near "perfect" by their spacing standards with little effort. Maybe ole DW himself can clear some of this up...
