Nate, any issues with rocks smashing cables under BB?
Any problems with Giant seatpost? Did You use "magic" solution? ;)

I have had ZERO issues with that setup. If there is an issue, then I was graced with the luck of not having any problems. I have had this setup for a few months and not one dropped chain. I am using an E.thirteen guidering in conjunction with that setup and maybe that is why I have had some luck. I can say though that it was a breeze to setup, and it setup to be near "perfect" by their spacing standards with little effort. Maybe ole DW himself can clear some of this up...
The deal is that the new generation Saint cranks use thicker chainring tabs (+2mm IIRC). This in turn places an 'off the shelf' bash an additional bit away from the ring (look at the Saint bash, and it has depressions where the tabs mount to space the bash closer to the ring). If the ring - bash gap were big enough, the chain could drop off the ring and down into the space between the ring and bash....possibly locking up the drivetrain.

THe thinner e-ring helps this a bit by moving the teeth close to the bash, but I dont think it is 'ideal' based on what the original bash - ring distance/clearance was designed to be.

I haven't had any issues with the cables as of yet. I do have people asking about that all the time. But it shifts well, don't need to replace housing that often, and with a bit of care (towel/cardboard, or better yet a dakine pad) shuttling hasn't posed an issues yet either.

Seatpost has been a fantastic. No problems what so ever

Somewhere dark, cold & wet....
Love the colour.:thumb:

How about a quick ride report? What were you on before?
Only had a very quick spin so far, not much to report other than liking the lively feel of the shock so far! Was on a Glory before, never really got on with it that well - always seemed to lust after my old DH Team (hence back to single pivot)

nice may it wear well. A bit green for my tastes but go shred it
Here's hoping it can handle my 133lb girth! It's actually quite a lot brighter in real life

fl1ppo grab an 8mm wrench and adjust the angle your hoses are coming out the calipers. You might need to rebleed depending on how luck you get but it will mean you can cut down the rear hose 80mm at least and it will look cleaner, less likely to get caught on uplift and will mean less flex in the brake.

You're right on the rear brake, there was still some room downwards, looks better now. And I'm also going to shorten the hoses as I have to rebleed anyway...
But theres no room at the front caliper, the bolt takes too much space. And the Boxxer adaptor is also too wide to get the hose to the side of it...

I'm gonna lame this thread up a bit with my 2010 Kona Stab Deluxe. 6 rides on it and the head tube is still attached - I can hear pinkbike imploding from here. ;)

I'll admit it's my first "real" DH bike, but everyone harps on how geometry is so important, so I figure this bike is right on as far as that goes. She likes to go down hills fast, and yes, there's some pedal kickback, but my other bike is a Banshee Rune (fair bit of chain growth,) so it doesn't bug me, and I'll take the extra square hit performance.

A few part swaps from stock, but enough words, here's the pictures.

Did the geo even change within the last 2 years?
not sure but since mid Barel times (06 or 07 I think) it was upgraded to what he likes and looks much less funky than old stabs(actualy it looks pretty good).

Love the looks of this new stab. Hope it's much fun.
