you shop at the liquor store? I have never seen a supermarket in this area with booze... i thought that was a thing around here that you cant buy alcohol in grocery stores?
Just beer and wine in the supermarkets in DC (and VA). Still have to hit up a liquor store for the hard stuff.

Blindly running into cactus
just pulled into cleveland at 1130pm...left my house in NC at 830am, in VA at noon after picking everyone up. so..this friggin storm turned a 7 hour drive into an 11.5 hour drive. over 200 miles of the trip was 45mph and below with white knuckles the whole way. i had about 20 miles of plowed/salted driving once i got to ohio...i thought the north was prepared for snow like this! the worst driving conditions were in friggin ohio.
oh well...we missed riding at rays today but we still have all day tomorrow and half day sunday to make it worth drive.

yeah some things are easier to stream. But with fios I had the entire season 13 in under 3 hrs. Also streaming was a gamble considering how much snow was coming down.

no, just tired from drinking in a blizzard all night. up to 22" at my house now. Might be time to fire up the snow blower, or make another vid of me falling on my ass on the trials bike in the driveway.

Some scenery from DC today...

Glad I'm not going anywhere...my car:

Sledding in front of the Capitol Building:

Hardly anyone driving around. Strolled back home on Capitol Hill via Pennsylvania Ave the whole way.

This is thread is oddly quiet today. You guys all buried or what?
We have about 18" of wet dense snow. Still coming down hard. Lost a tree in the back yard. Several others are leaning at dangerous angles. Tied a few of them off with all the rope that I own. Just happy as hell that I still have electricity. It is going to to get into the single digits tonight hope to have heat.

I have no idea where I am
A couple hours ago I talked to a buddy who lives in the suburbs of Baltimore. He said they already had close to three feet of snow on the ground and it was still coming down.

Here is North Cackalacky we got a tiny bit of snow and a butt load of rain yesterday. We still have snow from last weekend.

Just dug my car out. Depth varied between my knees and waist. I put an old comforter on my car yesterday when i got home. Hopefully roads will be clear enough for super bowl plans tomorrow.

We got two feet, but at least the sun started to shine at the end of the day. You New Englanders can have your snow back.

Nics pics, Damien! We have over two feet here and perhaps closer to three. It's hard to tell because it's so windy and it's drifting everywhere. All my privacy bushes have been flattened by the weight of the snow and I have done absolutely NOTHING productive today...unless draining tubes and bottles counts.

28" according to the table on my patio. My f'ing shovel broke halfway through my 3rd round of shoveling my driveway. I would go to my grandmothers and borrow hers but I can't get out of my driveway...

We got around 16" of somewhat wet snow here in Pittsburgh. It took my roommate and I about 2 hours to shovel the driveway (2 cars wide, 2 cars long). We then drove around in our AWD cars and laughed at people who have street only parking and couldn't possibly move their cars without a ton of shoveling. Everything was closed, only the grocery store was still open.

10-20" more snow forecast for tomorrow night. Because I don't think we got enough over the weekend.

They still need to plow my apartment complex out. Everybody is fighting over the few dug-out spaces and the roads are covered by 4-5 inches of compacted snow.

I went out drifting and rescuing people on saturday. Pretty foolish to be honest but some of the people I helped had absolutely no business even thinking about leaving their homes. I helped a guy in some beater Kia with a donut on the front! At the same time I coulnt believe some of the things I saw. Rolled over front end loaders, stuck snow plows, trees on i-95, atvs rippin through the mall parking lots.

I had scheduled 2 weeks of prototype testing for this week and next at work. All of which was supposed to be outside. By the looks of the forecast mother nature doesnt want me doing any of that for awhile.
