Traded the POS 303(thank god) for a 09 disco volante, have not ridden it yet and wont have a chance to for some time being as northern NJ has 13 inches of snow on the ground. But it looks pretty nice, only complaint is the paint, not good quality and chips a bunch. Other than that i like it a lot.For the build i took the demo 9 and 303 and mixed them, sold some of the older, but higher end stuff, so some of the parts (all of them) should look familiar. Weight is 40.2

Large frame
Roco WC
Fox 40 RC2
Chrome Industry nines to 823s-tubeless minions DHF
Avid code brakes with straitline levers
Saint shifter with XT derailur, idk the chain
Funn Dh seat on a thompson elite post
King headset
Raceface evolve Dh cranks with a blackspire ring
5050XX pedals
LG1 something chainguide
sunline wide ass bars with ODI grips
road cassette
and a few zip ties

Nice stem:thumb:

Anyways, hope you like more than your 303. You are going to get bashed on here for calling it a POS even though I know you always had problems with it.

Dude seriously, another new bike? Looks clean, but you have crazy bike ADD.
Have you been around for the 303 problems almost including a small claims lawsuit? I get rid of that POS as soon as i can. I dont understand why i "get less bikes" and still hear **** for it. At least this bike can get ridden as opposed to sitting in warranty or the 500 bike shops for falling apart.

because at one point you had three complete and tricked out DH rigs?
and now you've only got two, right?

guess it's time to change your POS avatar, too.

What was wrong with the 303 that required a small claims lawsuit??
not going to get into it, but basically it fell apart. (literally) and red locktite couldnt even hold it together, so basically yeti agreed it was ****ed up, but said wont warranty-bring to THIS bike shop, ok that didnt work, try THIS 1. and so on, yeti basically agreed it was ****ed up, but kept making me drop 200+ on all these shops to rebuild it(which adds up, both money and time) so i told them that if they didtn take it back and fix it, they would have to come to court in NJ. (i would loose obviously, but it would cost them a hell of a lot of money) They took it back *fast i might add* :) and fixed it, i traded it as soon as i got it back.

at its peak, it got so bad i could not get 1 ONE diablo run without loosing at least 5 bolts, all with locktite.

And what exactly did they say the problem was which was causing that?
This was the good one, when i sent it in, they said that there were no problems, i told them it cant get a single run without falling apart. (my guess was something didnt line up causing stress) they told me its a "world cup bike" and it only is supposed to do 1 run, i asked him how their team practiced, he then shut up and replaced a bunch of stuff and sent it back, i tested it for a week to make sure it was ok, than dumped it. (although it "should" work now.)

Good lord, I'm hoping that wasn't what was really said.
im not even kidding, this was at the point they were just trying to get rida me and not fix the ****ing thing, never again will i buy something from that company. I am not the only person to have these issues either, there was a medium 07 sold with these problems and a large 06(yellow) with these also.

She is purdy. I love my disco.

Did you really do a trade? Or did you go through Brian? If you traded, what the heckeez was that person thinking?

And oh yeah, what size? I might be interested in taking her for a run at Diablo this year if you would let me. :-)

full out trade, this bike cost me 121 dollars, just for shipping, the rest was the 303, idk what they were thinking, i havent ridden it but i was just looking for a generic bike i can ride without problems, and what better bike for being strong than a karpeil, you can take some runs on it. It is a large.

Nice looking bike. Generic wouldn't be a word that comes to mind with Karpiel. No doubt they are good frames, but something like a specialized or sunday would be much more common at races and etc.

This bike is great for racing too.
Yeah they rail corners definently or atleast the armageddons do.
I liked that bike, adjustable and light!

Whats the travel on the rear ie forward, vertical rearward/vertical etc... Mine used to buck on hard hits throwing you forward, then again that could have been a problem for the original armys as well and Im sure theres some geo difference between the disco and army!

I like the design though always did!:thumb:

I've never heard of a Karpiel bucking. Sounds like a problem with the shock. The new bike is completely different. The Disco is adjustable from approx 8.25-9.9" 10.5-7lbs with shock.

According to the manual i have the most travel and the least progression? That is what i want, just want to make sure that is where it is.
