i am surprised no one caught on to this sooner.... one would figure his vacationing in the French Riviera with Roskopp, Sessler, Minnaar, and Brycland at the end of the season would have at least tipped a few people off... at least enough to start an E-rumor, haha

that team is freakin stacckkkedd
Stacked because of the addition of CG? Really? CG is a 1000X better then I am, no doubt there. But really? What has he done lately? Not much. He'd be a great guy to have around if your looking for comic relief or a party boy, but if your looking for race results, I could pick several over CG. Dont get me wrong, I like CG, I just don't think he's too serious about really racing.Just my .02.

Let the flaming begin....

True he's a little long in the tooth but he's more of a manager/mentor than a racer nowadays. Yes he will still race but I think he's more interested in finding and helping new young talent through his team.

And just so people are clear, this is a totally separate team from the SC Syndicate.

I wouldn't count him out. He can still win World Cups, especially now that he has a new knee. Dude is fit and had a whole season off to recuperate. His technical skills are among the top 5 all time. Places like Champery are tailor made for guys like him.

Yeah TrumbullHucker, he's running the CG Racing Brigade, not Syndicate. They're just the bike sponsor for the team.

Still his riding style and v10... Odd choice even if the bike wasn't the main factor why he chose it.

All this V10 is a Plow bike nonsense, and 'newer designs' blah blah

V10 is a top performing frame under pro's and privateers, has anyone that makes this comment ridden one more than 1 run down a local hill?

Super stoked for Cedric. After a year in the wilderness with injury (I'm guessing lack of motivation perhaps by being outshone at Commencal by the Athertons) this is a great news for him.

Now I'll just have to sell off my Supreme and Meta and buy a V10 and Blur - I've been a Fan Boy Ahoy since I met him at the 06 Rotorua Worlds :p

Agreed, I dont think you could consider any of the Syndicate riders plow riders....well maybe sometime Peaty smashes his way through but I'd prefer to call that 'holding a line'.

I know how it rides but from what I rembmer he likes his bikes to have a snappy/jumpy feel. Somewhere here it was suggested he runs super fast rebound and he always seems to boost from stuff. I'm pretty sure it's doable on v10 as my bike currently is even less flickable than it and I can do it on mine but it doesn't change the fact that IN MY OPINION (i know you're not entitled to one on rm when it hurts the fanboys feelings) this bike is a bit different from what I imagine as a CG bike. I've seen him more on something with more pop (ie sun, commencal etc) as he boosts from stuff all the time.

btw. Tried the v10, didn't like it. Some people like it some don't but as long as your new opinion is the rm's old unfashionable soo 2008 opinion you apparently get bashed. Ok to make you feel happy I can tell you that ha doesn't matter and that I don't like facebook.

CG on Santa Cruz and Rockshox, it's like my whole world has been turned upside down. What happened to the days of him winning freeride competitions on the Dorado equipped gemini :'(.

Butch, Do you really think so? If the usual suspects are on their game, do you really see CG beating them? I don't. When was the last WC race he won? Honest question, not a dig at all, I'm generally curious when it was.

I'm not hating on CG at all, he got the skills to pay the bills and is fast as greased owl poop, no question there. The funniest guy out there, he's marketable, has a proven history! I like the guy, I really do, I'm just keeping it real, and I can't see him beating the likes of Hill, Peaty, Atherton, Minnaar, etc.

BTW Butch, I just need the drivetrain and the steed will be ready for you to borrow and be ridden like it should.;)

Generally CG runs his suspension slower than everyone may think. The fact that he said he runs it faster than most isn't really saying much.... When he made the switch to marzocchi he started running his rebound a little faster/softer in the front to increase small bump sensitivity and still keep the last few inches of travel stiff with compression settings, which he could never do with the Dorado's.

CG's biggest challenge is his mental game. Yeah he partied and battled injuries, which surely affected his potential, but I don't think it was the main culprit in his most recent DH results. Even though suspension, geometry, tires, etc has become much more relevant these days, CG's biggest liability and asset remains to be his mental game .. which is why he could produce the results he did in 1999-04 with arguably the worst performing DH bike in the Top 20, then suddenly drop off the Top 5 with a much more capable bike. I'm expecting to see his game stepped up this year for a number of reasons with none of them being the new bike, but perhaps the dynamics surrounding the new bike and team. Go CG!:thumb:

100% Yes. He, by far and away, he has all the skill to be top 5. Will he be on top form this year? I don't know. But I do know how motivated you can be when your knee is destroyed and forces you to build yourself back up from scratch. His background is similar to Barel and he comes from the #1 program in the world.

He knows how to train, how to break down and dissect every section of a course, and can handle a bike clipped in better than any rider I have ever seen. I don't think most people that have seen him ride when he's on would dispute it.

Baloochi mentioned maybe there are factors in his life that are capping him. Only he knows. If he shows up pissed off, fit and motivated....it's awesome to watch.:thumb:

Well obviously he's been training SO hard that he hasn't had time to shave that mustache. He literally looks like he is in the porno business.
Ever met the guy? I ran into him at Mt. Snow once and he covered two topics. One was what line I was taking on the waterfall and him telling me it was "pffffttt...too scary fuw mee", then taking the same line and giggling a few seconds later. The other one was about the figure of a random chic and how fast he could get her moist.:p

Haha yeah I got his autograph about 5 years ago when I was a wee lad. Don't get me wrong I like and respect Cedric, and I'm sure he's been training hard. I just think that mustache is horrendous.
