Why does cereal have to go in a bowl?

.....So I'm cruising around the house this morning. We've got about 3-4 inches of snow on the ground from a storm last night, and I'm kinda just looking out the window at the snow with that thousand-yard stare--you know that one you have when you've got a wife, kids, mortgage and a crappy job and you're hoping for that scratch-off millionaire windfall that you know is never coming. Yeah, that one.

So my wife looks at me with my Golden Grahams in my orange plastic cup with my big-ass Jethro spoon, staring out into the backyard and says "What the heck are you eating?"

"Cereal."

"Out of a cup?"

"Yes...out of a cup. This is new to you?"

"Who eats cereal out of a cup?"

"I do."

"Are we out of clean bowls?"

***munch munch munch***
"No."

"So what's up with the cup?"

"You've never eaten cereal out of a cup?"

"Why would I?"

"Why would you NOT? It's clearly the superior way. No shallow sides for milk to spill out of or for a stray Golden Graham to get caught up on-drying it out after it's already been soggy and making it all squishy in texture. I have no idea why you're questioning my logic."

"I have no idea what the hell is wrong with you to eat cereal out of a cup."

***Is this a bad thing? Did I walk the thin line of blasphemy in the cereal-eating world? Am I going sane in a crazy world or does anyone else out there do this? I'm simply opting for convenience here and I still think it's the superior method. ***

I've eaten cereal out of some sort of dish formed from tinfoil. Was a little too flimsy. Not recommended.

Malt Liquor, preferably Old English. The only trouble is you can't buy it before noon on sundays, but most people who eat cereal w/ malt liquor aren't awake that early anyway.
