Where do I sign up? I want one just because it looks like a SX. As Specialized only knocks out around 200 SX's a season (and maybe none next year), Canfield might be able to have a market of riders who couldn't get their first choice :)

Oh man PLEASE make that seat tube a little shorter....PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! If this is going to be a bike to take the place of the rest of the three it needs to have more adjustable options for seat post height. I'm with bubba on the 17-18" on the large. Everything else looks fine to me. CS I can deal with, Head angle can be changed with reducer cups. I can only fix that seat tube by cutting it shorter and I am sure you guys don't want me doing that :)

Proto looks awesome!

If the seat tube gets shorter or they are cutable then i will definitely try to pick one up this summer. Im building another FR bike at the moment but it was originally planned to hold me over til i can get the canfield. I planned all of the parts to transfer over. With the tall seat tube it has made me rethink my plan. Ill probably hold on to what im building if the "ONE" stays on the AM side of things. Not that i think its a bad thing in any way but it just wouldn't be exactly what i was looking for in a big hit FR bike that can pedal uphill (which the weight and travel suggests it would be perfect at).

I had heard from Chris canfield at one time that they are only making 50 in the first batch. That might have changed over the last month or two though.

Also the price will probably be quite a bit more than an SX trail frame.

Oh man, I had a Lucky, loved my Lucky, stupidly sold my Lucky... I really like the look of this bike. Could be a great bike for the bigger riding that I do here and then I could XC my Remedy. It would be nice to have some adjustability in the wheelbase.. for some of the tighter singletrack here something a little shorter would be nice. Then throw on the long ones for a day at Whistler...

I'm on a canfield. I have canfield pedals. I love everything canfield.

But what are you talking about? the SXT is a very quality bike.

I think transcend agree's with me because....

specialized makes great bikes dont get me wrong. But they are a mass production bike maker, like giant/kona/norco.Targetting a general broad range of customers.

Specialized is like honda, honda makes an amazing car.
Canfield is like a koenigsegg.Dont need to explain.

Part of the problem is that people don't think for themselves. Let's just say I've talked to someone before (no names mentioned) that were sponsored by specialized riding a newer demo 8 and they stated they don't like it as much as some of their previous bikes.

With that said, everyone listens to everyone. Think for yourself, and realize the mechanical advantage of a canfield jedi and rearward travel. Also, I am sure a lot of people have not ridden on either on here, BUT I could be wrong.

Also, until Sam Hill picked up that bike, I hardly saw that bike compared to how much we see it now. Like an Iron Horse Sunday, well what if it was a Cannondale Sunday, and no big WC name pro's rode the bike? I can bet that there wouldn't be half as many sundays!

Yeah, at %30 more, I would prefer an SX that is marketed as a DS bike. Even if this Canfield is all swoopy and similar, it's hard to say if it would even be a good DS bike without being able to take if for a ride.

I wish Canfields would make something similar to the Jedi, just with less travel for an AM type of bike. That would be awesome. Padowan. Not that i'd be able to afford it, but it could still be pretty damn cool.

I think it's quite obvious it's not a ds bike... A totem in front on the proto? How many ds bikes with 180mm travell you've seen?

Attention to detail and colouring is lovely but it's all a bit too swoopy for my liking - looks like it's been sat a little too close to the fire and melted.

The frame looks simply amazing, and I'm sure that it'll work even better. I think it's going to be an Uzzi Killer...

Walmart bikes don't do anno and polished aluminum, do they? :nope:
no anno, you are right, but this looks polished like a grille... and it has tripple chain ring goodness :thumb:

...i'm sure the pivot location and build quality differences are only minor issues, this is the "DH Team" model on their website. :weee: though no 10-speed

No one else has noticed the updated pedals?
what's the update you see? i can tell they aren't black.

I wonder why they are going with such a docile axle path? Seems like it will have very little rearward movement.

Good for jumping and pedaling I guess. :thumb:
I suppose the more playful feel is what the market is looking for. Gone are the days of the plow rig, now is the age of tech riding where the pilot needs to do the work not the bike. You gotta pedal to win :D

Go tell that to greg minnaar and steve peat, I'm pretty sure you'll get a good laugh there.
