Thanks for the heads up, I need to whip my lazy a$$ into shape. I even have a set of dumbbells ready to go.

I just finished up the original workout and it was great. definitely feel fitter and faster than I did at the beginning. most important it really kicked me off to get in the habit of going to the gym and training for the season.

his original program is great. ive used it for a while now. in combination of the Parisi school ive been attending and this, it sure kicks you ass....in a good way

Can most of these workouts be done at home with a set of dumbells or do you need to go to the gym to complete them? I'd like to give this a try, but my money is better spent actually getting to go race instead of on a gym membership.

A lot of the Decline magazine fitness tips are from James I believe. I've incorporated many into my routine. Granted I only go to the gym 1 or 2 times a week. But I feel this is actually obtainable. I know too many folks who went overboard and quit their gym routine after a few months. I find if I tell myself to go 1-2 times a week all year long I can achieve that. Anyway, I've moved over to a lot of his exercises.

Unilateral training is where it's at. When I ran track in college our first two months of lifting was all Unilateral training. We would do low weight and focus on form and range of motion. When we switched to normal bilateral training I was amazing at how strong I was despite lifting lower weights for months.

Dumbbells, Squat rack, bench and a exercise ball is all you need. Definitely cheaper than a gym membership. I go to the gym and do his workouts, it's amusing because people are thinking wtf is this guy doing. Anyone doing his program knows what I'm talking about haha.

I got it. I'm finally ready to be pro-active about my fitness level (racing DH the first couple of times and winning a race really cemented it that I need to get fit)... and I'm at a good point in my life (about to lose my drivers license... maybe...) to really take it seriously.

So I'll be a good test subject, is all I really have to say here.
