I've been out of focus on the DH frame world for a while, so I'm not sure what he market is currently looking like. I know some of the players, but I'm a few years behind on models and their characteristics. I've recently started considering a new frame that is a bit more plow-oriented. I miss my Balfa BB7 and the power to just point it at anything and lean back. What is currently out there that has a similar point-and-plow feel, and less of a slopestyle jumpy feel?

BMW Link?
Zumbi?
224?

The Nicolai is no plow-rig. It is based on a 4X rig with more travel and a single pivot design that makes for a good jumpy bike. I'm thinking 8" or longer travel, rearward path.

Well. If you want a TRUE plow bike.... That feels like a man bike... I am selling my specialized demo 9 soon. Size medium (fits kind of big though). It comes with all manuals, Elka Rear Shock, spare swinger 6 way brand new, all included hardware, and original manuals. Ridden for 3/4's season.

Edit: It was only ridden 3/4's season cause I bought it brand new. The frame I bought from a fellow had a defect in the lower pivot, specialized showed me some REAL love and sent me a brand new demo 9 frame. Haha. This is truly a plow bike if that's what you are looking for.

Specialized should be called Generalized. They are about as "Special" as McDonald's, Ed Hardy clothing, and tribal tattoos. I'm sure they work fine.

What kind of $$ you looking to spend? Bully's Jedi was pretty steamrollerish. I think that bike is on my short list, along with a V10. I like my Demo, but I want something a bit longer. You are always welcome to check it out.

Plus, we gots to go ride. Finally have a trail bike. Did a fun loop at Laguna last week.

Yeah, the Jedi could get on the list. I'm open on the cash flow side. I'm looking to collect info first then let cash talk later.

Riding fo rizzle. Incoming PM.

The r9 is a machine.it can be a plow if you set up it up with a lot+30% sag. if you tune up the shock for less sag it becomes more and more lively but is still a nice and steady w/a small frame reaching a 46 " wb.

cove shocker is another option.
it really it comes down to the rider. different bikes just bring out different traits in riders. some traits are bad some are good. the trick is to find i bike that fits all your good traits and minimizes your bad traits

I have a canfield jedi for sale, size large. blue with DHX. If you want a plow bike, get somethign with rearwards, i believe the bb7 is just like the jedi, the rearwards wheelpath is what you want to plow, you can have weight and a ton of travel, or light with rearwards to get a similar affect. The V10 does take that massive travel without the weight though, so that may be a good choice.

i can sell you a jedi, disco volante, or a demo 9 (and im not joking)

My RM flatline was a plow bike for sure. I sold it for that reason.....but, if that's what you're looking for......the flatline is worth a look.

the original v10 is probably the plowiest ive ridden,
That right there is about the plowiest bikes out there!:thumb:

Oh and too the karpiel guys that travel is a small amount of rearward like 2mm then vertical/forward and bucks on square edge impacts. Unless its changes I used to ride the karpiel armageddon and it was a fun bike a fast bike but not a real plow bike! Slaughtered single track though, damn that thing killed corners and fast in and out berms....

my morewood makulu can certainly do the whole plowing thing pretty well. It also does popping over stuff and feels really light in corners to be able to throw it about a bit. The m6 are fairly impressive too I've seen some people take lines on them that if they were on any other bike they would have crashed without a doubt and the m6 just ate up the wholes and let them keep going at the same speed as they went in.
