so i was just wondering, who makes custom frames?

i was gunna buy myself one of those liquid bikes 24 frames, but the cost of all the parts and ****, too much. so i was thinking of getting a custom frame done to my specs, which i can throw all my stuff over to.

the only one i know of is descendence in australia.

I can help you out with a custom frame if interested. PM me and I will be more than willing to get you any details you need. Built in the USA and done to your specs in steal or aluminum.

I would be careful about buying a frame from someone who can't spell the name of the material they would use to build your frame. . . .

A custom will probably cost you more than a Liquid Bikes frame. Just get a Liquid.
not when we're talking parts and stuff.

i wanted a liquid bikes 24, but then i have to buy a new wheelset, cranks, and everything to make a complete bike. right now i'm riding an stp, so i want a custom frame so i can swap everything over.

pretty much looking for a 26" frame with bmx geo and feel to it.

Custom frames are $$$$.
5-600 EASY.
Some of the best (Superco) will be closer to $700.
That leaves a bit of room for parts if you go liquid!

the guy form australia who i mentioned does it, told me 550 AUD for the frame, and roughly 50-100 for shipping. so max, 610$ cad, which is the same amount i'd be paying for something like an ns majesty, or a dob.

yes shops in my area are expensive as hell.

I had a custom 24" built recently by a buddy of mine.... he's pretty reasonable, and built it really fast. Like he got the tubeset on Friday, and the frame was done on Sunday!

Another unicorn hunt. YES!! So it's narrowed down to a 26 thats similar to a 24 and rides and feels like a 20, and cheap.

JK, Eastern Traildigger is the 26 your looking for, they can be bought with a 12 year-olds allowance BTW. But I must say from my own experience that a 26 w steep headtube and rigid fork is gonna a be world of difference from a stp.

well for a budget build i was thinking if you could get a rear hub that will take a 13t freewheel, you could run 30-13 on the LIQUID....

i am thinking this Sun Super Stock Wheelset probably doesn't take small freewheels . . . but maybe it would?? (would help if the retailer's specs told you stuff like that !!)

Details and Specs for Sun Super Stock Wheelset:

Ringle Super Stock sealed 36H flip/flop hubs with 3/8" axles, laced to Sun Rhynolite rims with black DT stainless steel spokes.
20": Wt. 4 lbs. 7.5 oz
24": Wt. 5 lbs. 3.5 oz

over the step i want a steeper head angle, higher bb, and shorter stays. and i dont mean like a dob. i know it a world of difference, i've ridden custom frames. plus this isnt just a dj frame. and if we're talking a liquid 24, theres no way i'll be able to build one in canada for 650. all the shops around me are expensive, and i'm not driving far to get parts. shipping from the stats is an option, but then i get murdered with extra fees.

Well as you can see theres tons of options out there. I am friends with Oscar @ Simple Bicycles here in Washington. I've been watching him build frames for the last 10 years and I can say that he is an expert builder and no nonsense.

He's done all kinds of bikes for all sorts of riding but his passion is 26" dj bikes.

Standard Bykes does custom now too don't they?

I bet even in Canada you can find some builders if you look hard enough.

If want a Liquid then buy a Liquid. Sell what you have to help pay for new parts. The Sun wheels will take that freewheel as long as they have flip flop hubs. But they only come in 3/8" axles I`m pretty sure so you have to use adapters to fit 14mm dropouts. Not a big deal.

The liquid fits your needs so perfectly though.... Maybe you can scrounge up some used parts, lots of people in Canada selling stuff.
Check out the classifieds at pinkbike, tons of Canadians selling bikes and parts!

Liquid! Liquid! Liquid! Haha... JK :D

If you want to go custom, I also recommend Oscar at Simple... I rode my green machine hard for a few years with no problems.

yeah i was thinking about that frame before, forgot about it.
so here's what i'm thinking so far.
1. custom frame is sick, but turns out its gunna be too pricey for me. too cheap for that.
2. frames currently possible:
-blackbetty
-ns suburban 24(slam those 26's in, it works well.
-pinscher(gunna cost me the most)
-dmr 898 ( i know nothing about this bikes geo, and cant find it anywhere)

edit: also the betty requires me to get new cranks, which i would much rather not.

so after shopping around, turns out i'm getting a used thunderbird frame.

along with a white industries eno hub laced to a pimp rim, demo medial cranks, sprocket, chain, pedals, seat/post and a headset.

400$. then i sell my stp and all the bull i dont need.
