Ok, so I'm sitting here on a Saturday watching an interview between Palmer and Warner and Palmer mentions working with Jeff over at Intense. He mentions working on geometry, designing frames etc. I guess this is directed at Stik... Is he over there helping out? Working on designs? I'm kinda curious to see what comes out of their shop.

Luke, as banshee rider posted in that link, we are working on it. We kind of never heard from him after his olympic attempt and we got well into our 2010 budget before he wanted to get back in the MTB swing of things. That being said, we are getting it dialed and hope to have some answers for everyone soon. The legend of Palmer still exists and he would be a great asset to us in promotion and development of new products as well.

And Brian...what do you mean I am hard to 'get a hold of these days'?
Have you tried emailing or calling me? I have not received any messages or emails from you if you have. I reply to everything I receive.

Hell, I am in texas right now and just replied to my entire email box and am sitting here on the web checking my PM's and forums, so I beg to differ.

Thanks for the info Stik, I hope you guys can work something out. It would be really interesting to see what he can bring to the table.

Good deal on getting Palmer back to racing. I will always go back to the first time I saw him in person at 7 Springs in 1997. That is was got me hooked on DH.

Derail: Shorty looked good from what I saw on the TV broadcast. How fast is he looking at home? Post pictures. :D

funny how something so small when you are a young kid can be influential...

Yep. That was a very clear memory for me too. He wore that custom leather Troy Lee leather jacket everywhere. Partied with him and some other randoms in the bar watching the NBA Finals (Jordan vs Malone). Met him b/c a jeweler buddy wanted to "get back in touch" with him. Palmer's orders to me were to request a 4 finger Platinum ring that said Palmer on it to go with his 3 finger gold one. :p

Pretty sure I only hung out at the bar with him to see if he'd get kicked out. I ran out of gas way before that though.

Sure, make me feel old. I think I was 29 at the time.

Are you talking about when Shaums launched it on the DS course and broke his crank arm off? I can't seem to find anyone that remembers that. I have a ton of pictures from that race but unfortunately that was pre-digital and I don't know where they are anymore.

I'm pretty sure there's a video floating round of that huge gap on the slalom course, I remember seeing it years ago. No idea where to find it though.

Yeah, that was awesome. I talked to Shawms about that a couple of years ago. I thought he said it was a BB spindle. Anyway, it was a very big jump. I have seen video of it and have some stills of it.

Yep, he snapped he spindle. While the jump may be relatively tame by today's standards it was huge back then.

The magic of the internet. I was right on the corner somewhere.

I was standing to the left of the words 15 feet high. I saw my crap windbreaker in that vid. I got pics of Palmer & Tomac's teeth gnashing during that race and a pic from where I'm standing of that same jump. :thumb:

Remember the grotto!!!! Camp out!

Ha, every so often this jump resurfaces and the video pops up somewhere. If you stop it at 0:07 and look right behind the uphill edge of the ESPN and the blue sign (can't remember what it was)...well, that's me in the corner of the fence!
