Diverse suspension making shocks!!!

is this based on any fact or actual information? or are you just spouting crap based on your 'impressions'?
Are you taking offense to it!
Im entitled to my opinion and I have been around suspension for years as well have seen alot of stuff and the cheaper stuff is USUALLY compromising something and being the technology is pretty straight forward as far as how stuff works then the cost cutting is usually in the materials. So I will spout all the **** I choose and you can either take offense or look at it from a different point of view.
They may work and have consumable parts that require changing as well as part of the reason they make it user serviceable so you can swap those consumables more often.
Im sure its an OK shock and that would be great at that price point, BUT when a TI spring costs on average $100 + to manufacture, machining cost on the shock, anodizing, assembley, etc.... The price is reflecting something somewhere Id be inclined to say the Ti spring is the hook to would be buyers.

Edited: on the other hand they could be selling there stuff for an entry price, then upsell all the items to you when it has issues or you revalve it. Its a basic design as stated in there own words which isnt bad. Sometimes simple is the best route but companies still need to make money and they arent selling it cheap because they like you....

I noticed they manufacture their own springs so thats a bonus and a cost savings, Id use them for the springs for sure. Hell they have about any configuration out there.

Is your 2 cents based on any real interaction with the shock, or is it based on keeping the list of companies you continually flog happy? ;)
No, but you of all people being on here should know I have a VERY open mind to stuff and love trying alot of different items. :thumb:
I flog what i really like and stuff thats so/so I let go by the way side.

I hope it turns out to be a reliable shock where the knobs dont break off and the castings stay solid as well as the tolerances are good and the seals have a long and happy life. That would be great....

Hell it could turn out it has less issues than the other guys and that simple is better...

I'm glad I don't feel alone... :)

As far reliability goes, we had a full year on a proto and several months now on the pre-prod Dueler (just minus the PRC knob, basically) and the shocks (mine and counting other riders' in our group) have been solid as far as reliability.

I'm not gonna expand on other industry parallels and such, or even my 2 cents, just from real time riding. I will actually put the dueler back on my 951 and maybe get my 2 cents back.

Sorry, Fadi. Not gonna ship it this week. You're just gonna have to wait.. :)

edit.. there's a whole effing tongue in my cheek on this post. Don't get worked up Travis. Whore it out..

Not gonna have this arguement here, but really? Come on man.

Fact is, Diverse could be one of the best things coming around in quite a while. Companies are starting to figure out that making things more affordable is the way to grow the sport. Fox just introduced the Vanilla RC rear shock. e13 the LS1+. RockShox the Domain dual crown. All steps that make sense towards actually growing the sport. The Diverse shock, if it works, makes a whole lot more sense to be positive about then a $400 pair of pedals.

Good point, your right... My bad...

Its hard to get past harbor freight mentality, so when something is cheap its assumed its a bad product and Im guilty of that.

I had some issues in another industry with shocks and price points as well as a situation like this so I spoke from a past issue (more emotion vs, review) so your right it is about time things dont need to be the most expensive to perform and yes it is about time they stimulate the MTB world a bit to broaden its reach to the younger generation...

Not backtracking, I made a quick call and I can change my outlook if its wrong or I feel it was in haste. If I was worried Id have erased the post and Im not! I got called on it and went back read it and yes it was a fast judgement call.
My (Original post) comment wasnt all together appropriate....

I recieved my Dueler today, and have gotten about one and a half hours of riding on it. Straight out of the box it was problably the most responsive shock i have ridden on high speed compressions. It really was a noticeable difference from my other shocks (swinger 6-way and curnutt) There was very little stiction in the bushings, much like the Elka bushings. Didn`t fiddle much with the compression damping today, but will post more info when ive got some more hours on it.

Yes they are still very active. I have one of their new ti coils and they are awesome quality. I believe they have a very thin clear coat on them which makes them appear darker and a bit shinier. Hard to get a good photo but here is the one I got a couple months ago. Also, they have a few other cool things coming out in the near future...

It looks more like an Obtainium. The older ones looked cheap.

When I called them, they told me to contact Republic bikes as they were going to be selling their springs.

Yep, DSP doesn't do Ti springs anymore. Seems like they might have dropped their money making product for 2 that may or may not do so well
