does anyone know what the thinnest gloves around are?

i dont care for any protection at all, i ride no gloves normally but to race in france its against the rules to ride without gloves so i have to put something on..

thinnest/least protection/no padding gloves you can buy, any ideas?

I was in the same situation as you and had a very hard time to race with most gloves, even the troy lee air were not thin enough. Since I tried the 661 raji, I don't want to try anything else, they feel so good that I'm actually wearing them when I'm not racing sometimes and I never did that before.

Well, I've felt the answers, and they feel like my golf glove and the troy lees just looked really thin. I didnt say buy without trying, thats just asking for trouble. I was just trying to give you some direction to limit the endless possibilities out there.

my shop has low stock on these style of gloves so its hard to try without buying, so i was just trying to find out if anyone's found/seen any gloves in shops what have practically no protection or padding

See the thing is, I hate riding with thick ass gloves but I like having some hand protection. Maybe I should fab a set of bark busters for the dh bike...

I'm thinking something that would replace the lockring on the ODI grip for the outside mount and then have a 2 piece clamp closer to the middle of the bar.

How thin a piece of alu do you think you could get away with? The moto ones are pretty burly but you've got 200+ lbs of machine to worry about.

Agreed, the Raji and there was another similar with a tougher material on top of the hand, similar to the 401 (doesn't seem to be available anymore? and I cannot remember the name, sorry). I hear that the TLD XC full finger glove is similar as well, but I have nothing but other peoples opinions to go with.

Get whatever gloves look good and cut the palms/fingers out. To the inspector at the top of the hill, you are wearing gloves, but you still get your bare hands on the bars.

I don't have a photo, but go to 2:29 in this:

Rajis are thinner than most of the gloves mentioned here...thinnest palms I've seen on a pair of gloves. Didn't work for me for DH (beat up my hands), but lots of people like them.
