It came to me on Saturday like a vision from the heavens - I must not wait to ride the W. I just bought my plane ticket to be there opening weekend (5/15-5/16). Who else is going?

Pack your mud gear, it's going to sloppy unless we get a major weather change.

Forecast for the next 14 days is wet.

Not opening weekend, but I'm in for the Fluidride race on memorial day weekend, plus a few more days of riding in BC and Bham. So pumped for it.

I'll be there. Probably headed up Friday night after work or early Saturday and finding a place to stay Saturday night.

If things dry out quick and they get some trails opened up I might just have to take a few three day weekends in June too.

I'll be an easy kid to spot, just look for the bald guy on the red Nicolai UFO ST with a white 888 (there weren't many of us last time I was there).

OK adam change of plans it looks like the wife comes back from Cancun the 25th and Ill be loading up and headed to socal for a couple of weeks opening locations so Ill probably bring the bike down with me. We can ride the weekends since you will be there. If you have an extra bike Brad my bsns partner will be there as well and we'll have to give him something to ride.
Hes not a strong rider but can hold his own.....

Landry was talking about a new trail in Revy built by ye ol Taxman monies. So much new goodies came out of the economic meltdown.

Not me. I think I'll hold off until they open up some more trails.

Was up in Squamish on the weekend and everything was clear, but I'm thinking Whistler is way higher up. They must be doing to pretty major shoveling!

Oh, it is gonna be crappy and wet. I was going to do a bunch of service work on the bike, but now I'm opting to hold off until I get back from the trip. No point in replacing bearings only to have the new ones subjected to that crap.

If you want to ride in So Cal, I have my Knolly and the Demo 9 if your boy needs a bike to borrow.

A-line is clear from the 2nd big hip downwards (me and a mate started digging snow out the other day), SPC is completely clear, Heart of Darkness completely clear, Crank It Up I expect is clear halfway up, Karate Monkey has a couple of ice patches but rideable, Ninja Cougar clear up to the long wooden bridge. Schleyer/Joyride and all that area were under 3ft of snow about 2 weeks ago.

They have the trail crew on it digging stuff out, and the melt rate is high, don't worry. I dunno if EVERY trail will be open the very first day but there'll be more than enough to keep you busy for a couple of days for sure.

The berms were packed and smooth with no braking bumps! Schleyer was silly fun, and A-Line's changes are sweet, as are those on Crank It Up. The weather is off the charts good. So glad I made the trip. The only thing that would be better would be open Dirt Merchant.

Probably the best day of my life so far. Anyone who was anywhere else in the world at the time was just wasting their life. Damage Inc at GLC afterwards was mental, couple of hours in that mosh pit has me feeling like I got hit by a whole fleet of buses.

That was a pretty awesome day of riding. I managed to wreck my bike pretty good, but at least it did not lead to any damage to me.

Almost hit a bear on Rock City. That was fun.
That wasnt a bear it was Mandown wearing his furry riding gear....

Wish I was there you guys are having all the fun right now..

RIde safe guys and keep us fools updated PICS!!!!!!!!!! Mandatory.....

Well...don't blow out the trails too bad...I want to enjoy some non-braking bumped goodness next weekend...

Buddy of mine and I will be there Friday morning through Saturday night. I'm playing tour guide and it will be epic.

I figured on dragging him down Schleyer first run. (Oh...that sign...yeah, the double black diamonds are the easiest runs. Trust me.)

Not sure about the picture situation. We have a video camera, but it is spazzing, and we lost most or all of the footage from today (our tech department is working hard). I'd love to have some pics, but it seems a shame to break the flow. Perhaps we can pull a few today.

Bully, I'm looking forward to riding! You bring the naked DH broads and I will find the extra bike you asked about.

BTW - lots of females on sick DH bikes here. It is the sweetest eye candy, and makes the long lift lines seem not so bad.

In a Van(couver) down by the river
Schleyer is best when done FAST.

Oh, and Bullcrew, one thing that I noticed was how many women riders there were on the hill. Not so many in bikinis, but it was really cool to see such a huge range of riders.

The village was packed with skiers and non-riders too.

Whistler is good for that kind of thing: bears on the hill, cougars in the village.
