Yep. Three really distinct lines. I really liked the far right line from rider's perspective, but ended up taking a hybrid of the far left with a cross to the middle. Most of the entire bottom half of the track was like this.

Holy fork compression and I don't run my forks soft either.

Oh well, At least I got to enjoy a pleasant 48 hours believing I'd earned a spot on the podium between two national champs.

Pretty interesting to see those that had both runs really consistent. Thomas and Max were within the same second on both runs. Impressive. I, for one, like having to put it all on the line in one run. Adds more of a mental approach to the racing. Knowing that you can't flat, crash, etc. because you don't have another time to fall back on makes it more exciting for me. However, I really liked the combined time format.

Had a great time with all who were there, hope everyone was pleased with the trail considering Troy first approached the owners less than one year ago! I'll be running the "big side" every weekend untill June if anyone wants to come back & ride.

Haha, sorry about that man, and to anybody else who was effected by my couple of mix ups! First time trying that out, and just had a few glitches in the system.

Shakedown, I'll PM you about what I've got for you.

This race was GREAT! The course is incredible, period. One of the best and more challenging in years. Everyone there could not give enough praise for the work these guys did. The race ran very smoothly, albeit a bit slow. There were very good reasons for that though. The organizers sent about 4-5 at a time at a minute apart and then had a break in case someone got wrecked. Which I think was a very good idea. Better to err on the side of safety than get the thing over with.
The shuttle ride however, is defenitley an adventure. White knuckle ride for sure. And since we are all Dh'ers we were all cracking jokes on the way up to hide how scared we all were. :)
All you guys from NC really missed out. Weather was perfect and after the race waiting for results, we got to ride 'the big hill', which was the most fun of the day.
I'll try to get my vids up if I can.
Ok, so I get a FAIL message...cn someone help me out with putting vids from vimeo?

This is not set in stone,, but its looking like july 31 for the next race, and the plan is to run the expert class on big side if we can add some more features into the run by then (at least a lil jump or two). And no 4th of july race, we decided not to get mixed up with the youth nationals there that weekend, but a group of us are going to ride,so the trials kids can see whats going on!

i will know by this monday(may 23rd) for sure on the race date!

Took me a while to get back to this, but I just wanted to thank everybody for coming out to our first race this year, and I definitely wanted to say thanks for the kind words about the race and trail. A lot of guys have put a lot of time into all of this and it always helps to hear that you're doing something right! :thumb:

As Troy mentioned above, we're working on the next race, and have it tentatively scheduled for the last weekend in July/first weekend in August. Racing the big side of the mountain should be awesome, and definitely challenging. Some of the guys are out there today working on some built elements to keep you on your toes, (even more!).

More to come,
Tryon
