Ah you'll be grand, work with those type of cables all day everyday!! I'd be more worried of the cameras getting too wet, fogging up or just getting drenched and dying....as you seem to of already learnt!

Any chance you could let this tv geek know how many cameras and what size lenses they're running on the hills, any toys too?

Brock

If the live feed goes down tomorrow, blame the geniuses at Slovenian TV who ran all the cables into a ditch..which promptly filled 6" deep with running mud.

sam in a brace means he aint holding back, no matter how sketch. Also means that if protections available to prolong career and life, why not?

I havent seen the vid yet (still loading),but if I know greg from previous races, and knowing that the rock garden is as bad as it's always been, then he is gonna take the direct route and roll his way over the gnar. Sam normally takes the right hand side line, which is quite unusual, but seemingly quite effective.

yep, typical greg line. bash it straight thru. Good to see all things carbon holding up under the clatter ;)
Matti looked very uncomfortable thru that garden? bike, rider or suspension?
on the polar opposite, Ben Reid absolutely sailed thru it. Stoked for the irish dude.

interesting to see Hill taking the slalom line thru that rockgarden. Almost irrelevant as he took pole position regardless. Go Hill!

Sorry if I missed this somewhere else: What happened to Aaron Gwin? I thought for sure he would be in the top 20 quali
crashed. watch the DirtTV video. not sure if the crash in the video was during practice in the morning or quali run. either way it looked like it hurt.

he's a protected top 20 rider though. so he's in no matter what. first one down the mountain tomorrow right?

from what I gather the rule pertains to race run footage, not practice. What i'm unclear about is if this affects DirtTV/MTBCut etc from being able to put together race day highlights or if it means Freecaster has sole rights to broadcasting the UCI feed, ie MTBCut can't embed it on their site like they did last year?

However it is interpreted I'd be surprised if it's enforced beyond just putting it in writing. It's pretty much in the best interest of all parties involved to look the other way.
yeah that makes sense (in the rule's sense, not in the real world sense). I guess we'll see how it plays out tomorrow.

And that video that practice video that Freecaster put together is super rad. Def looks like it was shot on a DSLR.

has been really windy here during the night - but i'm about 70km north of maribor, if it has been that windy down there it could be very sticky mud... anyway I#m off to the race now! hope the wind is not as strong down there otherwise there might be problems with the gondola...

The lift was down all late afternoon yesterday due to high winds. It can take 40km/h winds, but it was 50. Today is due to be the same too...

Hopefully the lifts are running...

Time to hit the sack. The wife is waking up early to watch the coverage with me. She's a big Hill fan.

Does anyone know how I can get the coverage in Italy? I tried paying with my paypal but the payment says it won't go through until the 19th (b/c I did not have a standing balance) and my phone is in the US, therefore I can't receive the code via SMS. I have a credit card attached to my paypal, but it doesn't seem Freecaster is accepting payments via that method of transfer.

Ask a neighbour or someone you know to text for a code and give them 2euros...
