What celebs/athletes do you follow?

I follow Lance this time of year and I'm always struck by what a regular guy he seems to be... Always talking about music, hanging out at his favorite LBS, whatever.

Any other cool/interesting people worth following?

I still don't understand what reason might exist to cause non-celebs/non-companies to use twitter. Besides being an internet-presence whore somehow not satisfied already by facebook, that is.

Let me take time out of my day to launch that app on my phone and share with the world, in broken sentences and numbers that look like letters, the most mundane and pointless parts of my life, just in case yours is boring enough to give a damn.

no, no i don't.

FWIW... I don't tweet, just follow certain people from time to time. It's cool to see what people do when they aren't competing. The trick really is to find interesting people.

I think it's pretty funny that such a strong line is drawn between "telling a group of internet people what you're doing on a daily basis on a message board named for a monkey" and "telling a group of internet people what you're doing on a daily basis on a site named for a bird noise."

I don't twit twat tweet but I follow some random funny people for amusement when I'm bored.

I disagree...#1 this is more of a discussion...#2 most posts on here are when something significant happens....even if it's stupid, or pointless...it's a lot better than "I just took a huge dump...awesome", or "Listening to the beatles...they are good", or "Just washed the car". Seriously? It's AIM away message stalking.

I don't have an account, but I do find it useful.
Some might think it's lame, but during NFL offseason minicamps, and training camp, I follow the accounts of several Chicago-area sportswriters who are out watching the practices and updating constantly.
Video isn't allowed on the premises, so you take what you can get without actually going to watch practices.

I check out a few people just because I got the app on my phone out of "what the hell is this all about" curiosity. Good skimming material for "quiet time" on the throne.

I "follow" a few comedians.

Conan
Jim Gaffigan
Todd Barry
Sarah Silverman
David Spade
Funny Or Die
The Onion
Etc...

Conan's "tweets" are always hilarious.

i do admit to having an account, but barely use it (occasionally i'll send out notices of shows i've shot) and don't really follow anyone aside from Stuart Braithwaite of Mogwai since i find him very funny.

actually, i wonder if Jon Wurster (of Superchunk) has a twitter account. his facebook updates are usually money.

I have an account but don't use it... not too keen on yet another way to consume content. Currently quite inundated already.

I used to. But she no longer returns my calls. The Sheriff stopped by and gave me a letter saying I need to stay 100' away from her now. I took a crap on the hood of her car and all hell broke loose! In hindsight I should have twttered her Mom and Step sister when I had the chance. This sobriety thing isn't working out like I had hoped....

I follow some people, but I never tweet. Something about sending out messages into nothingness that just doesn't ring with me. Facebook, forums, etc., at least its some back and forth conversation.

I follow some athletes, comedians, and writers. I'm a big Pittsburgh Penguins fan so I followed their feed this season. It was pretty cool, they post behind the scenes pictures and updates on players, even contests for tickets and swag.

More or less its just a way to kill some down time.
