Hey guys, I shot a ton of photo and video at the Dirty Bird this weekend. Its gonna take me a while to sort through it all, but I wanted to get a few shots out while everyones still wiping the berm roost off of their grinning faces.

#201 riding a 2010 black and white specialized demo 8, wore a red cannondale long-sleeve race jersey on saturday with black shorts and roach shin/knee pads, wore a tan button up shirt over the same cannondale race jersey on sunday with green fox pants. thanks

204. Dark blue giant reign with black lyrik. On saturday I just had black jersey and shorts with my orange MX chest protector, sunday I have my bright orange MSR jersey over top of the chest protector.


excellent shots too, what kind of camera are shooting with?

Yeah, sorry about that. I meant to get it all sorted out before putting these pics out, but I've been super busy so I figured I'd give the people what they wanted first.

Haha, thanks, but my Canon 7D definitely made things a bit easier!



My plan is to have Summer of Shred as a sort of multimedia blog of cycling events and culture over this summer. I'll (hopefully) be going to a bunch of races, shooting photo and video, doing write up, and putting together event coverage posts. I also wanna do some equipment reviews, rider profiles, that kind of thing. I'll post a thread somewhere on here unveiling the whole thing sometime soon, but definitely fire off suggestions if you'd like to see any specific event or aspect of the sport covered.


I'll do my best to sort through my pics and upload the ones I have of you guys, but it might take a day or so.

Dan here. Connor's dad. We spoke some at the race. We rode together a few times. You'd know me if ya saw me.

Anyway, I'm working on some legal jumps at Lake Crabtree County Park (real close to RDU airport). We are hoping to have a grand opening this summer for the big jump line. Seems like it might fit into your overall plan. Let me know.

Connor was running 314 on Sunday and 207 on Saturday. Post up if you got any pics of him.

We switched bikes which is why the number changed. I actually switched classes so my number ended up being something else on Sunday.

Alright, here's the deal. I just spent the last two hours digging through my pics and editing these up. Some are good, some are not. A few of them are not good enough to be posted on the internet, but I did it anyway, so don't judge too hard.

For those of you who I didn't get, I'm sorry. If you see me at the next race, tell me to look out for you, and I'll do my best to get something decent. There should be some video coming out soon too, so keep your eyes peeled for your bright shining faces or goggles in that too.

This would be awesome. I'd heard you were doing this from the Triangle forum, and I'm definitely interested.

Is there a work day coming up?

Oh, and the closest I have to a shot of Connor is this one of the groms cheering on a Grom:


He was moving too quickly for an on the bike shot.

I appreciate that... If I could get over a few mental blocks (confidence and staring down my front tire are the big two) then I could definitely be faster. The minions and lyrik definitely help with confidence though.

Even though the reign is a trail bike I think it's perfect for my size, at 120lbs I don't need any more travel, especially for the bird, the geo definitely isn't the best for DH but whatever, I'm just in it for the fun.

Sorry to take the thread off topic, back to some pics!

Very cool pictures! How about #127? black Banshee Wildcard with blue Race Face anodized bars/cranks. I was wearing a gray shirt with white poc knee/shin guards and a silver/black helmet.

Sorry man, I just went through them again and I don't have any of you. If you're gonna be at the Beech race wearing it let me know and I'll try to make a point to get something.
