Do any of you run aftermarket brake pads? Are you running them because they're much better performing than stock ones or cheaper?

It would be nice if some of you could give mini reviews on brands that you have tried in the past.

Btw, has anyone tried the new pads from Superstar Components? The prices are pretty interesting...

I've used nothing but EBC red pads in my Shimano brakes for the last 4 years. I love them. As far as a review goes, they're quiet, fairly long wearing, and seem to have better bite than the stock pads.

I'm thinking of gettin' either Zeit, A2Z or EBC gold pads for my Hope V2s. From what i've heard all of them are good. Any other suggestions?

Somewhere dark, cold & wet....
EBC and Goodridge do the job nicely. If your in the UK (or the postage isn't too bad for abroad) Superstar pads are very good for the cash. I've got some Kevlars on the go on the DH bike and I'm not sure where the extra money for EBC or Goodridge has been going

Hmmm neither goodridge nor ebc makes pads for the stroker ace. Looks like i'll be going with the superstars. 45$ cad with shipping is a pretty good price for a 4 pack.
Guess i'll be getting new pedals and other stuff as well to save up on shipping :D

+1 for EBC red pads. Been using them for 9 seasons on my DH bikes with zero issues and tons of stopping power. I have tinkered with Jagwire, Clarks, Kool-stop and stock Hayes and Avid pads. none of them compare to the EBC red for DH. I use stock pads on my trail bike.

I am sure EBC will be making them for the Stroker ace soon. Maybe when you wear out the superstars EBC will have something

+1 on superstar sintered. I used to use goodridge sintered but cant tell any difference, they dont wear out any quicker and are a quarter of the price.

Been riding Baradine pads this spring to test them out. Nothing to complain about, they perform just as well as the original Shimano pads in all aspects and cost about half as much at my lbs.
