course was sweet. building a downhill course on a flat lot is impressive. too bad a trick ferret won though. double and triple whips look terrible at these types of events. where's the frickin BF footage?

I think that vid was just a jam format after the contest was done. He said they were riding in the rain which is pretty crazy.

I love seeing Nyquist getting 5th - same tricks from the 90's and running 4 pegs. Chris Doyle getting 2nd show there is some trail soul still there.

Saw an interesting comment on PaWoods about Red Bull putting down tons of money to get the contest done but not helping out established trails that need some funds to keep going (Catty). Not sure if they've actually put a word out to Red Bull but would be cool seeing Red Bull helping out some little guys.

i think redbull showed interest in one of catty's first jam fundraisers but backed out for whatever reason. one redbull event at catty could probably cover a year or two worth of bills for them.

I was actually there and I'll just comment on a couple things to clarify. Definitely not a flat venue, the site was weird and though they built up the starting hill like crazy it definitely had elevation change before the dirt was there, random concrete platforms were also on the site that got adapted into the whole thing.

The clips were from the finals which were held in a light rain/mist kinda deal, nothing sketchy or crazy. The wind was what seemed bad to me. The riders had 15 min to crank out as many runs as possible, and the judges were watching and I'm pretty sure thats what they made their final choices on.

Dosch killed it. The transfer he did over the last gap was only attempted by 3 guys (him, hucker, and BF). Dosch was the only one to clear it and then whipped it, he deserved the win from that and really solid runs. BF rode really smooth, but I would say some of the other guys rode with just as much style and did big tricks (no disrespect to Brian, I've liked that guy since I used to watch him race back in the 90's).

It was a super sweet course and though the video doesn't do it justice Fuzzy, Magilla, and the rest of the diggers and riders did a great job!

There was talk of a trail comp with teams that would ride the trails in a train and get judged not just on tricks but how they used all the different lines and how they rode together. I think the idea got used in England last year, can't remember for sure. I think reps from Red Bull even came out to the trails last year to look at logistics. I am not sure where all that stands at this point. . .
