I hate that I can't skip more than a few songs on pandora...it kills me that it won't switch genres without giving a thumbs down to a band i just don't want to listen to at the moment. I'll see if I can check it out.

they have a mobile app?...i guess it's not for the iphone...cant find it on there
Oh it's for the Droid. It's not rated very highly mostly because it's new and they're still working the bugs out I think. I like Grooveshark but they haven't given me a good enough reason to pay for it yet. Their VIP sign up page that lists the "extra" stuff VIP's get is pretty lame. IMO.

Glad to hear you guys like Grooveshark. Its the brainchild of a guy I wen't to school with. It isn't exactly P2P like you normally think of it. People upload music, it is stored on the website, and anyone can listen to it. It is legal because it doesn't allow for download of the music, only live playback (same as Pandora). It has come a LONG way in just the past few months, I'm sure he will continue to make significant improvements as long as he doesn't run into any legal trouble.

Cool!
I may spend the $3 for one month just to check it out.
Tell them don't stop making it better!! Someday SONY or some big company will buy it I'm sure.

There is also a grooveshark iphone app but the service is not free, I think it's $8 lifetime? And you have to crack your phone. I'm going to buy in as soon as the jailbreak comes out for iphone 4.

What is the difference between this, the other places listed so far and spotify? Had a quick look and can't seem to find any major differences I may be being stupid though

Pandora, lastfm, and slacker radio all create a playlist for you and you are limited to how many songs you can skip. Grooveshark you can listen to entire cd's specific songs pretty much whatever whenever... It doesn't limit you to how much you can listen to
