After 4 trips to Morzine in a row, we've decided to go further :) to AdH and L2A :)
Have fun, watch your bikes (I lost mine last year :( ), go to Champery and Morgins, check Ben's tracks :)

Thats what you get for making your bikes so light. They are easier to steal ;)

I'm there 19th July through to the end of August, might also be at Eira.

Definitely head over to Morgins, awesome trails over there, a bit of a hike but less braking bumps.

Hey Guys,

I have been building a lot on the Champery WC DH track as well as all the trails in Morgins.

The WC trail is in such great shape right now with lots of big new jumps that everyone should check it out before it gets destroyed during the race. We have been hard at work in Morgins lately adding new features and flow all over the place.

I start digging with a walking excavator on Monday and the goal is to make the Tabogan g-out much harder in the berms with lots of new jumps. Morgins opens on the 12th so there will be lots of new stuff for opening day. Come shred with us and don't hesitate to get in touch for a ride or a beer.

Here is a pic of me in one of the berms that will be getting some love soon.

This jump will get a touch up with the digger as well.

I even worked on the Champery WC XC trail.... They wanted a drop. So I built them one. I am curious as to how well that will go over.

and for everyone that will not be here for the race, we built camera platforms in all the best spots on the track. We will also be paying extra to have 4 more cameras on track. We want to have the best coverage and show everyone the best sections from the perfect spots. Hopefully, all goes well.

Looking great man
it looks like you enjoy building as you enjoy riding
Me too
I've build most of the DH trails here in Israel.
And even found myself helping in fixing some parts of a trail in morzine (a good friend of my live there)

I'll try to get to morgins and Champery while I be in morzine

this is my bike
so if you see me say hi :)

how much do you pay for a night with breackfast and dinner?
a friend of my live in morzine and can fix you a good price.
Ill be glad to help with that.

I've just notice the prices for staying in morzine...
It's 60 - 65 euro for a night with breakfast and dinner.

if you like, my friend in morzine can fix you the same places( like shalet eira) for 50 euro's for half board.

I'll be glad to help you with it.

see you in morzine

Steer clear of those Irish lads, ragged misguided b*sterds, the lot of em. They're nothing but trouble! A right bunch of over hyped, old skool, irresponsibly modified turner fueled yobos!

I predict deportation for most of em before the 6 weeks are up, especially the ginger one!

I too wil be in PdS 12-23 July.

Most probably in Chatel or Morgins. I ride a Large polished DHR with old boxxer wc on it. This year I go alone so riding company is welcome.

I've been living in Morzine for 9 years now. If you see me on the trails, stop me and say hi.

I'll be traveling further afield this summer with a few multi night mtb trips in Austria and Italy. Leaving the chairlifts behind for a change, pedaling my way around high alpine trails staying in huts along the way. Keep tuned for write-ups...

Hey Damo, there is an article in Velo Vert this month about a trip I did like that around here. Started in Champery then to Super Chatel traversed to Lac de Tanney then to Rochers du Naye by way of the Ferry in Le Bouveret. Pretty sick 2 day trip with some epic singletrack. We even helped birth a calf along the way.

Go check out the shop under the tram in Champery. We just set up a swap out system for 40 carts. They have 5 in stock and can get you back up and running very fast.

cheers for the info ben, got it sorted today. i think you met my mates chris and katie. gutted i didn't walk the track coz it sounds like i missed some sick riding.

they did unfortunately give me an 09 cart which is 15mm shorter than the pre 09 ones. no biggie as i just lowered my damper side stanchion so it wont top out on the cart. was going to retire the fork soon anyways since its an 05 one, will just keep the damper as a spare.

Adam.

Hey Adam,

No problem. Glad you got it worked out.

Have you ridden Morgins yet? I definitely think you should check it out if you haven't yet.

Best to go by lift + bike, correct me if I'm wrong.

Is there any other way to go by car than passing through Abondance? That takes ages :)

not sure if the stream gap in chatel is new but its a really great jump, there is a massive step up which looks mental.

I know my bro doesn't answer his emails very well but I don't remember ever getting one from you. Sorry if I didn't respond.

Yeah, Victor told me he was shooting with Tahnee over there. Stoked you liked the trails. They are running well right now and after the Chatel Mountain Style we will get them back into shape.

Adam, just pin from the slow rutted corner, suck up the drop and pull hard on the lip and the step up works fine. It looks big but rides pretty smooth.

got two days left here, had a big crash yesterday already. trying to finish the trip fairly injury free. (basically the time for manning up has come and past. :p )

was trying to ride champery but looks like its not going to be sensible with the rain we are getting in the evenings.

also i followed you down the rooty section in chatel yesterday, nothing like following local riders lines! smooth... :D

Hey Adam,

The Champery track works much better in the wet than before. I think it didn't rain enough to make it too sketchy. Seeding runs for the Mountain Style are today and the course will hopefully be not too slick. Come check it out. There are some huge jumps up there.

Ben,

I just spent a fortnight riding with Adam in the Alps and just want to give a shout-out saying thanks for the work you guys have put in over there. Morgins is riding amazing, the Chatel slopestyle looks great and Champery is a class act. Wish I could be there for the WC! Best of luck with the rest of the season, we'll be back next year...

Thanks man. I am glad you liked it. It will get better and better every year.

Here is a photo my brother Will Walker took of me on the first straight of the Champery track.
