Certainly there are days you just want to go ride and not be bothered with the camera. I kept on naggin myself to take pictures for this ride today, in a way i really didn't wanna be bothered.

i'm really glad i did in spite of myself......

i went riding on a B.B.T.C. ride (Backcountry Bicycle Trails Club). Our local I.M.B.A. affiliated bikey group. We really couldn't have asked for better conditions, sunny in the seventies yet in the shade of the forest on the Olympic National Forest.
Definately one of the nicest rides for scenic beauty i've ever been on. My pictures really doesn't do it justice.

Total elevation gain was around 3500 or so feet in around an 18 mile ride, mostly singletrack. I really don't like climbing singletrack but this trail was mostly smooth the entire way which is pretty rare for Pac. N.W. trails.

I really like this pic, i asked her if she liked it, she says her form was bad she didn't like it haha

Really a nice ride today, i'm giving this link out to all who participated in the ride today. Hopefully i can create some new monkeys. but certainly it was a great ride today shared with good riders, had a blast you all.:thumb:

oh and for those of you wondering where the pictures went where everyone got to descend thousands of feet of singletrack, back down what we climbed? Well the camera got stuffed in the camelback for what i define as screw sharing, it's Skookie flow down the trail time.:D

Oh yah it's pretty straight forward, but the question is.... is everyone ready to follow? This trail is pretty damn close to being an epic in my book.

But i know you'd fall in love with this trail Amy, i know i dig it!:)

I can usually get a few dh riders to come along, as long as it's on a Saturday. Just give me a few to get my lugs back from my cold and I'll be down.

From the pictures it reminds me of Skookum Flats. Where is it? Near Bermerton?

Nope near Port Angeles.:)
Skookum Flats pales in comparison to the Dungeness River trail. Dungeness is less technical, but it's hands down the most pretty trail i've ridden on so far, and that's sayin alot.:) I guess at the start of Gold Creek trail (Yes another Gold Creek trail on that side) there are a bunch of Rhodedendrons but they weren't in bloom on our ride yesterday.

we are going to have to come out there. i just stare at the pictures you post forever. its like another planet. i've never seen anything like it. looks like an awesomr ride once again. you have to take a camera everytime you go. when i ride my 6 mile loop with 300 feet of elevation gain and this stangnant creek that smells like stank, i pretnend i'm on one of your trails. it helps. really. :p

nice pics!

looks like a good time.

I may be up for a weekend mtn. bike ride soon.

One of my favorite rides....Very scenic.

The trail has some extremely steep climbs and does turn epic. But when you hit the top and start down the the Gold creek side...WoooHooooo!!!! Narrow, winding, single track decent. Fun stuff.

Skooks, let me know when you plan on heading back.

Yah this was the best B.B.T.C ride i've done so far, everyone was having a good time, a wide range of riders, no real hurry, but not slug pace either.
Your always welcome, Orcas Island Mt. Constitution this Saturday.... Huckleberry Ridge Sunday the 16

Stop whining! i'm jealous that you could get to ride ROCHESTER if you wanted!!!! :p :monkey:

Yah i really find it amazing at how many people who don't take advantage of our great land around here, with whatever recreation you can choose from. I suppose that goes for alot of different places, but especially here. I know the city of Seattle like the back of my hand, but i won't hestitate to turn my back to the city as i'm heading somewhere out to the woods to ride on trails of dirt.

Rochester is on the agenda. Road trips are harder to come by when you work 6 days a week and living in Manhattan. I was chatting with a buddy on the phone about Devils Gulch tonight. Ever been? outside of Leavenworth.... Kaches Ridge... St. Helens, Sequim, Bellingham, Anacortes, Mt Constitution, Rat Pack, Tiger, damn, so many. Good riding in Washington, beautiful place. PNW rules. We'll have to go on a ride sometime. I miss real mountains.
