Thread and pics on the MTBR WA forum. FM should be posting a WP soon. I imagine it will be B-Line/Heart o darkness style though. All legal and such though.
Hey.... Don't normally post here but dug up my log-in just for this thread....
Yeah a bunch of us have been working on a new trail out there, building a line that Brian Crowley and I flagged. This is another legal project approved by snohomish county. Really it's a re-route of an existing trail that just goes straight down a hillside, we have re-routed it to add in a bunch of fun sweeping corners and flowy singletrack. I wouldn't call it a downhill trail though honestly, there's just not that much vert or distance to work with at Paradise. It will be a very fun trail though! It will be more along the lines of the trails at Tokul east, or ninja cougar, that type of thing. All mountain I guess.
Right now we are working with the county on approval to ladder a 50-60' stretch that's very off-camber. We already have the line mostly roughed in otherwise. The ladder will be needed for the first section to be rideable. Once that is done we'd like to build up some big berms, small drops, and maybe some more wood features on the flatter, lower section. This will take a while because drawings and approval process is required for every feature to be legal. That's worth it to me since it will all be there in 5 years, nobody likes building something and seeing it get ripped out 6 months later.
Anyways, glad to see there is some stoke and interest. Work parties will be posted eventually, stay tuned.
East side of the plateau from points 22-12. Too bad they were not marked 21-12 'cuz then we could have called the trail "Rush" or something like that. Instead we get, "Two Tickets" and FM's '80's Eddie Money flashback....
Bummer, I just rode there for the first time yesterday, and I skipped the 2 trees trail. The Southern Traverse had a little section that went down into the ravine that allowed some downhill speeds to be achieved, but it was short and had a lot of trees to go around. Wish I would have read this post a day earlier.
