Wow...if only all sporting events were this well covered....
As far as I can tell it seems like this camera is nothing more than Sol Vista's normal webcam of the lower lift and lodge area. Seems like they may have changed from the normal camera angle available on the website. BikeSolvista.com webcam is currently unavailable.

hey all things considered, some streaming is better than no streaming...I'm sure there will be plenty of pro vids coming...but at least you can see some of it....right?

I'm sorry but this is my pet peeve. Big news...the nationals will be broadcast live. Every one tunes in expecting great coverage. All you get is 3rd world video coverage and a commentator who does not know jack sh$#. What a downer.

My feelings exactly. 3rd world coverage is right. I can get the same kind of coverage viewing my local bike path with my cell phone camera.

As am I. The difference being if I'm not paying for something I don't set the expectations all that high.
What? You're not a typical Spoiled American Brat? You don't think the world is owed to you because you're an American teenager/early 20s nimrod who has rich parents?

You don't belong on RideMonkey, then!

Mitch R. did not start?
Broken Collarbone during 4x practice on Thursday. He said that no surgery will be required to fix it. The bones are broken perfectly end to end. Just patience is what he needs. LOL. Knowing him, that's gonna be supper difficult. :)

I don't mean to start beef (yes I do, east v west is hilarious), but I notice that CA riders are significantly better then... well, everybody else, from the east coast to the mountain states. Also funny that of the pacnw, east coast, and MSC, we have by far the worst race series.

Go CA!

4/5 CA

7/10 CA

10/15 CA

12/20 CA

But congrats to KT for being 15th! looks like a big result, and a super rad race run for him!

You CA's can ride in sand real good. Problem for us CO's is that Sol Vista didn't really turn into sand this bad until last weekend....and it just got worse from there.

A big thanks to Sol Vista for putting on an excellent race in spite of USAC's best efforts to the contrary.
I agree. The post Cat1/Pro qualifying Friday night riders meeting was awesome. A few riders protested the final obstacle on the last straight close to the Finish line. USAC race director says "Due to practice time and other factors, no changes will be made to the 4x track." This is FINAL. This is my decision.

Yeah right...

We wake up on Saturday morning to a small piece of equipment running on the track changing the final obstacle. I was indifferent to the change. I didn't care either way. I did think it was built a little awkward, but it's 4x racing. Challenging obstacles should be part of the track. It was difficult to see Chris Hale crash so hard at the finish area and be carried off. Then about 2 riders later watch TJ Sharp get carried off on a back board. Tons of near misses this weekend and tons of people walking around injured and some like Kathy Pruitt not so lucky. She's still in a Denver hospital. Broken Necks, Backs, Arms, Scapulas, Collarbones, Wrists, etc from both 4x & the DH tracks.

As it turned out nothing that happened on the 4x track mattered for me anyhow. I never made it past the first step up without crashing in any of the races and runs that mattered. I qualified last (7) after a crash. I finished 5th out of 5 (2 Dropped out after qualifying) in Cat1 30-39 because of a crash in my first semi. It can't get any worse than last place. Needless to say it was a humbling weekend for me. It stinks when you can't manage to stay upright. I know I'm a better and faster rider than that. I look forward to the 2011 race season. I hope to see 4x back again.

Ross Milan won 4x. He's from Denver. Aaron Gwin won DH and has lived in Denver for the last year. Said he's over our winters though and headed back to CA this winter.

They turned it into a large triple. I don't think anyone ever successfully tripled the whole thing. One person tried and a free season pass to SV was offered. But that guy crashed super hard. Everyone I saw doubled then Manual/Roll off.

I was surprised at the poor turn out for my 4x Cat1 30-39 class as well. Normally we have alot of heavy hitters in that class. Surprised me that only 8 riders registered and by the time racing began only 5 were left.

You guys definitely have the advantage of being able to ride all year. I think that shows.

But I'm not leaving CO, I love it here. Wait, no it sucks. You CA and Texas folks stay the EF out.

Pro DH Finals video is up.

thanks to everyone who came out to shred and film and take pics and hang out. i know i had a good time!

cool little sidenote, there was a guy with a radar gun on the fast sweeper before n'damus jump. there were a couple dudes going 37mph there with most riders going in the low 30's (32mph seemed to be the average). 5mph difference is HUGE! it was also noted that a lot of riders who looked fast/ragged weren't actually going that fast. pretty cool.
