looking for classic NE singletrack
My aunt picked up a couple of paintings at a yardsale several years ago, primarily for the frames... Found out one of the paintings was by a famous artist, and she sold it for $30k at auction! It definitely happens.

Ditto. i want to get the defamation of time on my shoulder
I can only imagine the awesomeness my brother could work with something like that.

He did a whole series of Robert Williams pieces when he first opened up shop. I dig his work, too.

ansel adams? still trash
Even if you don't like his stuff, it's still hard to argue that it doesn't have a place in photography history. There are some pieces of his that I like, but most of his stuff I would say is just ok. Sure as hell not worth that kind of money....

I think his contributions to the history of the conservation movement and helping to bring the national parks to the public eye are far more significant. It just so happened that he did it via photography.
