Jonkranked or anyone else.....I am going to order/did order the VPD vest and it looks like the sizing goes by length only. I went with the lg/xl and think meduim is what i need any ideas?

yea the L/XL was enormous on me... I wound up going with the small and it fits perfectly - nice and snug the way it should be. FWIW I'm 6'1" and the sizing chart on their website put me at the L/XL. You tried on the one I had correct?

switching to med. even for my sausage shaped torso, hope it works out. I don't think anyone would fit into the LG/XL after trying on jonkranked's extra. That $hit is huge

I ment people that actually ride bikes. Smoking an ounce a day in the parking does not require spine protection.

I'm 6'7" and the L/XL is just a tad too short (still better than anything else I've tried.) And unlike 661 stuff it's not designed for uber-fat Americans. So that's a plus.

The VPD vest came in yesterday, it fits really well other than the belt being a bit tight on my beer belly which I was expecting.

I am really impressed with the quality and fit of the armor and I am sure it will work great although I hope I don't need it much.

I am not impressed one bit with the sizing that POC uses. A person of my size does not fit in size meduim of anything and the POC meduim is just right for me. You have to be one fat fukk to fit in the LG/XL, I am glad jonkranked had that size on hand for me to try on. If you are a fat ass or a 6'6" goon/giant and in the market for some sweet protection shoot jonkranked a PM. I am sure he will sell it since he will NEVER fit in it.

So summing the posts up until now the sizes of the VPD vest is on the bigger side.

But are POC armour generally on the bigger side?

I'm looking at the Joint VPD knee and elbow pads and size small (and large) is on sale on CRC.. (according to the POC size chart i'm a MD-SM on the elbows and a MD-LG on the knees)

From what I remember from talking to jonKranked about his, the knee pads at least run pretty true to size.

Their helmet sizing is retarded too. I wear a large in most things and can barely even get in their XL.

Maybe your dreads grown, mon.

the elbows run really small. I am 5'3" ordered the smalls and they were too tight on my arms, returned them for larges. They fit fine
We're the same length, what do you weigh (I'm 70kg)?

i have a 59 cm head measurement, liking the fit of the L/XL cortex i bought. i had been running the thin cheekpads but think i'll put the thicker pads in there again to make it feel snugger.

Bumping the thread rather than starting a new one. This popped up searching for POC sizing and from what I have read sizing is an issue. I have have struggled with all pads when comes to sizing and now I need some new gear. POC ticks all the right boxes so its worth a try. I have not been able to find a suit that fits well so never picked one up but a recent down has made me rethink. From what I have read I need to go down in size but how much? I am guessing medium for 6'1" 185lbs or 82Kg dry. For Arm pads I need to go large? Knee pads I ride 661 Kyle straights in large, perfect fit but not durable or sufficient protect, seems I need to stay with large as these are true to size.
I cant find measurement charts for POC but I guess they are a waste of time if I did?

Based on my experience with their sizing chart:

VPD knee: chart is spot on. Best knee pads i've ever used. They will be snug, but they stay in place. I wear the L/XL
VPD Elbow: chart is spot on. if you are on the border of sizing, go with the larger size
Cortex DH helmets: sizing chart is accurate
VPD spine (tee/vest): someone was high. according the to chart, i was an L/XL. I'm about your size. 6' 1", 200lbs. L/XL was absolutely ENORMOUS on me. I wound up getting the XS/S. It's a snug fit, but not uncomfortable. I didn't get the medium because it flat out wasn't available at the time (about a year ago).

here's the sizing chart:

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I am 6' and 195lbs, I rode the l/xl Tee last year. I found overall it was a good fit, maybe the spine was long (rode up my neck a few times), but the overall fit was snug but not uncomfortable

I have since bought the TLD shock Dr T, less protection but way nicer movement/feel.
