money talks.
Oh how the irony continues! You have the money to try to bribe us into letting you race two classes, yet continually can never provide gas money on trips, help out with lodging, food or transportation.

Perhaps you just feel by doing well in masters you can win a handle of whiskey and continue your arrival of several Turner bikes and Oakley glasses! ;)

Haha if butch gets to do it then you should let all the amateur class riders enter into pro also so they can get a chance to get a timed race run on the pro course. I'm definitely not quite a pro category rider but I would love to get a race run in on the pro course.

If butch gets the option I think everyone who wants to should get the option to do so also.

It sounds to me like the two rivaling sides of DBRP need to come together in person and settle all differences. No point in arguing online.

We need both parties on the same page here.

Mike's right, money does talk. I also talk on the mic, and I just can't wait to call the play by play on Butch's Masters run:weee:

Speaking of Masters, they'll be racing the Salamander Slide along with the intro and amateur riders. My buddy Brian and I just put the finishing touches on a new skipper double into a lefty hip (both rollable for those less prone to take flight) that leads you into a nice fader transition:thumb:.

awesome dude. I can't wait to hopefully ride your course. ****ty ass car braking down the other week on the way to beech might prevent me from making it out there but I'm hoping to pull through and make it. I mean I'm already registered so it would be kind of dumb to not show up. Where is the course going to end up after that finger rock drop towards the end. is it completely new to the bottom or is it gonna hook up onto the last part of the original course. I know when i was out there like close to 2 months ago it kind of just ended at the rock drop with a little berm after it.

Us?

I don't know where you pull your BS facts from about my money situation, but I'm paying for a wife to go to college full time, 2 kids, a dog, a house, 2 cars and all that other big boy stuff. I squeeze in DH.

Until you can afford to pay your way through life and don't have you mommy paying for your jock strap, I suggest you sit down in the kiddy corner son. :thumb:

Do I need to bring some boxing gloves for you guys to use this weekend? Or do you guys want to go bare knuckle? Get it together! You're just riding bikes! Do you really care that much? And people wonder why nothing ever progresses in the southeast...Everyone needs to chill out and come have fun this weekend, ok? In all seriousness though, I'd love to watch a good fight!

Speaking of a race series, let's just call it the Southeast DH Porcupine Cup!
We can bus in some spectators at every event and our logo on the bus would be,
"Come on out and a watch a bunch of pricks race!"

I'll try this again. I have no beef with anyone. People know I LOVE to ride...and I LIVE to talk smack. Don't confuse it with my anger...which is very obvious when witnessed. :D

And the DBRP crew should practice what it preaches if we're in lecture mode::thumb:

Butch...It was a JOKE! Smack talking back at ya! (besides the part about how it seems that everyone's really freaking out and people just need to chill and have fun!) I really do think bike jousting would be awesome though! I want to see all the mythical internet tensions released in person!

Anyone want to make bets on Butch vs Craig in a little bike jousting competition?
I can't decide...

I took another chest cam video of the Salamander Slide today, but again failed with the angle. I'll have it dialed for next time. There was some awesome flow added to the Slide today that I think everyone will really like.

Some of the more open sections on the Intro/AM track:

Everything can be rolled over or has a go-around. Its pretty twisty but fast and flowy at the same time. The trail is wider, the grade is more gradual, and the turns are longer than the old track. I'll try to shoot some pics from the woods tomorrow.

I didn't take the time to read this entire thread to see what all the arguing is about......but I'm so stoked for this weekend!!

But you guys are making this hard..... had the chance to walk both the new courses on Saturday afternoon.......they are both awesome! If that truly is an option to pay extra $$ to get a timed run on both courses....that would definitely be something to think about. Unless "mother nature" decides for me........if that pro track is wet and muddy come race time....I can be honest with myself and realize that I have no business racing that track in nasty conditions!

Thanks again DBRP for putting all this together!

Maybe we'll do that today. :) There will at least be a helmet cam video of it posted tonight. I tried to do it yesterday but the angle was off...

DHRACER1067:basically a class filled with people that have been riding for a long time so they don't really fit into the beginner class but don't have the seriousness about racing that would require entering in pro or amateur/cat1..semi pro.
yay! sounds just like me! oh wait, i'm not 35 yet so i'm stuck racing fast jokers like you, corey, and jimmy, since i feel guilty about racing intro last time ;)

got a new (to me) bike, fork and some wide handlebars...i'm ready to shred! not bringing any youngin's either so I actually get to practice just for me!! holy crap this is gonna be fun! :thumb:

I have some amazing footage from a track walk/ride today in the pouring rain with Mueller. I'll have it edited up tomorrow morning sometime. Be warned, it's true Dirty Bird style...

Get stoked!
Am track ride today...excellent traction! Get ready for the coursewalk tomorrow!
Can't wait to see everyone out at the bird this weekend!

Far fewer roots than the older track!

A little damp, but the track's holding up great!

Watch out everyone...Craig's practicing!

Looks like I finally got a weekend off at just the right time. Coming up Saturday to practice don't have a big rig so just going to hit the AM course. I will be out there with the white Transition Preston with red Dt Swiss wheels. My name is Brandon I met a few of you guys a couple years ago when I had my black Orange 222. This is going to be a good time.

Flash Flood Watch - Watauga (North Carolina)
MORE
HIDE
SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTAINING
VERY HEAVY RAINFALL EXPECTED AGAIN TODAY...

.A STALLED FRONTAL BOUNDARY WILL BE THE FOCUS FOR SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS. TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS MAY PRODUCE FLASH FLOODING. A
WAVE OF LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE ALONG TODAY. THIS IS EXPECTED TO
ENHANCE THE HEAVY RAIN POTENTIAL.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.

:rockout: :thumb:

I was about to make a comment about definitely running full spikes, but the track looks so prime, it may be fine with traditional tires. Or better yet, Profro will express ship me some Hillbillys
