mostly dry loose rocky conditions with some sand...Australia!!

i was thinkin nobby Nic front (2.25) and either Racing ralph 2.25 or rocket Ron 2.25 rear

currently running 2.35 single ply high roller and crossmark 2.2 rear, so looking fora change and want LIGHTER!!

Thoughts?

Nobby nic or fat albert, the alberts are a bit more aggressive and the nics are a tiny bit toned down. Volume is good on all the tires and the sidewalls are snakeskin on these offerings so you resist sidewall puntures and if tubed then you reduce pinchflats or tubeless and they work GREAT.
Wifes bike has Nics on it and LOVE them I rode em hard today and Im impressed If I had a XC bike Id spec thos if I was more all mountain Id probably go Fat alberts.
The rocket rons are thinner and more race specific as the other one you mentioned. They are all great tires but for riding alot and seeing unforgiving terrain Id go nics or alberts ..

The other 2 (Raplhs andRons) have STELLAR reviews as well as tons of awards. The reason we went nics on my wifes bike is they are snakeskin sidewalls. The racing ralph has a snakeskin but only in a 2.25 width and if thats what your using than that would be pretty smokin of a tire.

just so everyone knows I bit the bullet and swapped my 2.35 High Rollers 62a for some Nobby Nic's 2.25 Evo and hit the local DH/FR trail on my 6inch AM bike
Must say...I was pretty hesitant at first but all I can say is for a small profile...WOW!! I am impressed, they held everything, even a sideways landing in loose stuff off a jump where I was preparing for the worse.
weighed the tyres when they were off the bike too

high roller was 700g
NN Evo 2.25 was bang on 540g

now looking at trying some Schwalbe's on my DH bike

Wicked Will is a great front dh tire. Either a Muddy Marry or Big Betty for the rear.

Also the Racing Ralph comes in a DD or Double Defense casing wich is a little heavier then the regular but much better flat resistance. I have yet to see the Nobby Nic in DD, I hope they bring it out.

NN 2.2 front + RR 2.1 in the back. It's a wicked good combo + pretty light for the amount of traction you get.

And the tires can be pushed pretty hard, keeping in mind it's the tire combo of choice of many pro 4x racers including Graves if my memory serves my right.
