I just realized i can pay my rent and bills now and still have a little money left over. It is suchh a relief not having to freak out about every little transaction on my card. Promotions are good for your health!

Nice - when we went to lunch with you, you were worried about a $5 burger :D

Feels pretty good, doesn't it?

:thumb: Its always a good thing when you can cover your expenses, put a few dollars in the savings account, and still have cash to take care of a few non necessities.

Good job!

I got a job before finishing college my last semester and would skip classes to go to work because I had hit the *jackpot* getting $12.25/hour. :D

I'm almost to that point. I've been on a training salary for the last 7 months and was told a couple days ago I'm getting promoted within a month. I figure if I have been able to cover all my bills (except student loans ) with my current salary when it more than triples next month I'll have tons of disposable income. Although I've been really trying to talk myself into saving, investing and putting a ton in my 401k. It's hard to think that far down the road when you're only 24 and want instant gratification.:thumb:

It adds up faster than you think, you will never miss the money and you can't easily get to it and sabotage your savings.

My first regular summer job was a part time ranch hand at Gregg Stables in Parker Colorado - I moved irrigation pipes through a rotation in an alfalfa field, strung electric wire to keep horses out of said field and mucked out their stalls. The job paid $50.00 a week for 2 hours a day 7 days a week plus unlimited use of an old farm truck - at 15 I thought I'd hit the jackpot. The owner I.P. Gregg looked like Boss Hogg in overalls.
