never heard of them. but bottom of their page in white letters:

©2010 Shimano Inc.

looks sharp though!

and they used the term AHEAD on several stems......isn't there an AHEAD company? headsets and such??
I have a couple of really old headsets in the garage that say Aheadset on them. They were pretty low-end... off some 90's bikes. Not sure why I even still have them.

Pro components = Shimano. You can link directly to pro-bikegear.com from Shimano's homepage menu.

Yes, i have heard of them. PRO components are pretty nice. But comparing something to truvativ is like comparing Brie cheese to American. Truvativ for the most part makes ****.
Truvativ makes the handlebars and components for $300 and $3000 mountain bikes.

Pro is obviously just an aftermarket line, and their stuff looks fine. I just bought a Stylo WC bar because I'm happy with the one I have now.

Pro is Shimano's line of control components. They are pretty nice, but only a notch above all the other Taiwanese stuff.

Ahead was the original threadless headset system designed by Dia-comp in the early 90's. All modern headsets are of that design.

In 1995 you could get a headset or an Aheadset. Get it?
There, you've gotten you history lesson.

All I was saying is that Shimano is making stems bars and posts now. Sram needs to step up it's game with Truvativ.

Sram>Shimano but PRO>Truvativ, so the battle continues.

BTW where I use to agree about the quality of Truvativ... now I don't. They arent sh!t at all... the WC stuff is pretty nice, as is the Noir stuff. They just aren't as nice as this "PRO" stuff.

I picked ups pro frs stem which at 50mm was 3g heavier than the point1 racing stem....the FRS cost 30gbp and the point1 is 130gbp. Adding ti bolts to the FRS would have brought it down to the Point1 weight. It doesn't feel any more flexy than anything else I've used either. It's a no nonsense bargain product IMHO. the rest of their range looks similar and gets decent write ups in magazines over here in Europe.

Pro components are used by the Athertons and Vanderham

Quote for the win. Both have their own "signature series". DIRT mag did editorial a few months ago on them. The Athertons assisted with design/spcification, proto testing and final graphics. They look pretty solid.

I quite like the pro line, but the name makes it feel like it's aimed at a level of rider above my standard. Someone needs to bring out 'average, Decent quality components for riders who aren't great'

 I want to come out with a road bike that's named "Mid-Pack Racer". You know, for those 99% of us who aren't the winner.
