can anyone recommend a good one? Would like to keep it under $100. Will primarily be used for drying hot peppers, some fruits, and beef/venison jerky.

...and when you buy the Ronco food dehydrator for only six easy payments of $19.95, we'll throw in the dial-o-matic food slicer absolutley free!

from what i've read in regards to dehydrators, no fan = no good.
...hence the rotating of trays. But for $20, why not right. Mine still works. Use it at least once a month for jerky and drying mango's and watermelon. Made some teriyaki venison jerky last month. Lasted all of 2 days.

Jon if you are a nice lad to me I might give you my secret Jerky recipe I perfected over the years.

FYI:
Same batch of Jerky was done in dehydrator and oven. Oven won, hands down.

I think mine is a Nesco. Be forewarned...you'll use it a lot when you first get it and then it won't get used so much anymore :(
I have more cash tied up in kitchen/cooking stuff than bikes and skiing gear combined:D Some gets used once a year if that. You gotta pay to play.
