Good news I think. DH going mainstream may mean more kooks, but it also means companies and organizations have more money to do cool events.

The question is- can Lee be a hardass enough to whip whatever lazy kid they found into practicing?

Seems like in all those episodes the kid who wants to be made doesn't want to put in the effort and has to get yelled at and stuff to make the show good.

Oh man, I always thought that would be cool to do on that show.

The problem is - most kids that mountain bike actually have some dedication and effort put in already. Its not such a random/popular thing (like bmx or moto that theyve done before) that a 15 year old barbie doll girl would pick out to try and do.

thing is though we dont know if it is a kid that does mountain bike in the first place.

dont think MTV wouldve picked it up unless it was someone complete opposite of the norm.

Didn't they have an episode where they taught a girl to do a backflip on a bike (was on a Resin pad landing)......?....she didn't seem to have much experience...

Dude, that was the best Made ever for the soul reason that they made her practice wheelies and watch their bikes while they went into a "club".

The above comments are correct that they are going to get someone that can barely ride. The thing with moto is that just about anyone can roll around a track with very little time on the bike to learn clutching and balance. This made it a bit easier for Ryno to deal with those girls in the moto episode. It's not like they had to deal with Gieger or JP taking their front wheels out. I can't imagine how they can nueter a DH course so that it looks good with pro riders on it and still have it rideable for this guy.

I recommend making this at least entertaining to watch by doing something similar to the girl backflip training deal. Make him/her party with Peat and Cedric and then race the next day. Just take the intro for the NWD4 video for the script. :D

Yep, they did.
She could barely go in a straight line without the newbie rider wobble,
and the next thing I know she sketchily rolls out for a backflip.
Damn silly.

Having seen a Made episode being filmed at my high school there is nothing good that come from this. In the end when this finally airs we will all lose.

Although this episode of made might bring a few more dollars into the sport I would rather see all those gay fukkin shows go away on MTV. Bring back headbangers ball, yo! MTV raps, Whatever played the 'blocks', Beavis and Butthead and all the other cool shows. Where the fukk is Kurt Loder and MTV news these days? and that skank Kennedy?

I'm much younger and I still agree ;) Though I think it's good for it to see made. Maybe the show off teens that roam the fancy bikeparks are annoying but they are a good source of cheap barely used high end parts ;)

Also it may atract sponsors and that's always good.

Agreed. They will take something great, like DH mountain biking, and give it a nice coat of overly dramatic garbage and nonsense. MTV blows. I would be really surprised if they did a half-decent job and didn't make the sport look weak. At least whoever it is will have a good coach.. Fingers crossed on this one..

I just saw this last night. I don't know who should be more embarrassed: Us for now being associated with that idiot, or high school girls who were pretty accurately depicted. Either way, I now feel sorry for both groups.

So who would YOU have picked?

Personally, the producers picked the right guy to work a total noob into anything at all. Sure they embellished a bit, but it's TV.

i watched that episode on the net a few hours ago... meh, could have been a lot worse, the girl actually seemed interested, and into it as time went on.

with how unsteady and unconfident she was on the bike I really dont see how it was advisable to have her clipped in. made for some good TV, a ton of awkward falls!

I can only hope it gets more good looking, well put together women into the sport like her.

to answer the most important question... I totally would, and she is 18
