Fall Down @ Dry Hill

Sweet! Good times were had last year... except in the trucks. Can we please, please, please, please, please leave the doors open for the ride up this time?

Packing into the back of those suckers with a bunch of sweaty dudes who all had chili for lunch, no airflow or windows, and a driver who's channeling the ghost of Colin McRae is a recipe for a hurl-fest.

I don't mean to sound like a whiny bitch, but some type of cargo net would be awesome. Hell, gimme a tow rope! :thumb:

So does anyone know stuff like how to pre-register, when that opens, and how many people max?

As far as the shuttle vehicles, are you guys saying they use cargo vans and not flatbeds trucks?

1. Register on-site, we'll be open no later than 8:30, riding @ 9am.

2. We use cargo trucks, nobody rents flatbeds out here esp. ones with rails.

3. We use to keep the doors open but it led to one or both of the following; the doors would rattle off the tracks and smash somebody (they're super heavy!), and/or if we can't put them back together it's like a $1200 bill.

Someday I would like to buy trucks that have a roof, but fairly open sides. Anyone want a great sponsorship/billboard possibility?

Since he said gates open @8:30, I'm assuming that's when reg also starts. I'm guessing you'd have to sign a waiver too. We all had to at the recent Black Rock shuttle day too.

How do you know it was a Rhino and a Quad did you catch them in the act? May want to talk to the motorcycle club and PA power sports and give them a FYI. Just like us mountain bikers they hate a few bad apples that ruin it for the rest and self police. It will not help now but may prevent future problems. Did you have surgery on the wrist?

One of the things they did was try to pull down the poles that hold up the finish sign. They hooked up with chains and tried to pull them down and the axle width was obvious. It's a small town so I called a couple people that have Rhinos and one of them saw a particular person leaving the area with a Rhino and a quad. Also found a hypodermic needle which apparently goes along with who they think it is. The sheriff came up and was pretty cool. He even picked up their Busch Ice cans for prints. Busted or not, I hope they find something else to do with their time.

And yes I had another surgery on my wrist from a break in May of 09. The awesome doctors (?) out here failed to notice one detached and one torn ligament, even after I told them that's what I thought was going on. Awesome doc in Seattle got me hooked up, but immobile til November or so.

Hate hearing about crap like that. On a happier note, weather report for Port Angeles this weekend is looking good. Low 50's and not raining!

To celebrate being broken off and not being able to ride the shuttle day in PA this weekend, I'm heading out with a small demo fleet of Transitions.

I'll have 4-5 bikes available to shred on-
TR-450
TR-250
2010/11 Blindside
Covert

Come out and support the ODS and shred!

We had a nice group out today and everything is groomed and the dirt is possibly the best ever. Weather, perfect. Hope to see a slew of you.

Thanks for the efforts of those who could help today, and consider yourselves slewed. Be there in 12 hours or so.

"Stupid redneck hillbillies vs go green hippie liberals"... Nice, just like the Jets and Sharks in West Side Story...

Sounds like an awesome time with perfect weather. Will need to make the trip some day...

Thank you all for coming out to the Fall Down. While this is the closing of the riding season up there, it's the beginning of the build season! We've got a couple trails sketched out for next year, so if anyone wants to come out and build/work over the winter, email us and we'll see what works.

Thanks for your patience also. We never know how many people are coming, but we'll work on that.
