Ring for the win. No friggin huggin up against the fence. That has to be the worst ****e about the UFC.

Looks like i was right. Crocop lost last night. He should retire. He sucks compared to how he used to be. He's not even close to as good as before. I read about his fight. Sounds like it never really went to the ground. If it never went to the ground, he should've been able to beat Mir. He's a shell of his formal self.
Sport Psychologist. Im pretty sure he can get a similar paycheck in Croatia as an ex. Polititian, Police guy and a celebrity it shouldnt be hard so I doubt he does that for the money. So yeah, either he sees a shrink or retires. Too bad most fighters dont know when to do that.

How did you get that out of what I said? Friggin dumba$$. I wouldn't care if they got rid of Brock, or Carwin, or Chael, or Sherk. Wouldn't bother me. It would keep UFC fights at least more competitive when it comes down to talent, skill, and determination. It wouldn't come down to who wants to take the better performance enhancing drugs.
You seriously think they all take performance enhancers? Look at the LHW champ. Does he look like a roider? Look at Edgar. Does he? What about BJ? Do you think BJ was the champ for so long because he was taking the drugs?

haha. my logic. That's funny. What about your logic?
Dumbass? we're resorting to name calling? :thumb:

How did I get that out of what you said? Simple, you said if a guy can't fight with out the roids he should quit, that would essentially eliminate 75% or more of the current fighters.

Yes, those guys all roid. I'd bet the number comes in at 75% or higher. Steroids are not just for turning yourself into brock lesnar or shane carwin or barry bonds or alex rodriguez.

BJ I will say was possibly one of the few who owned a title for a long long time who wasn't a huge roider.

You caught me on a bad night. Let me rephrase that. I didn't mean dumbass, i meant dork.

Are you the guy that's selling performance enhancing drugs to these fighters? I'd figure they do random testing more than once a year. If they're all roiding, then there would be more people getting busted for it.

I know steroids aren't just for getting big. I have asthma and used to use a steroid inhaler to save my ass when i couldn't breathe. I'm thinking something like that isn't going to make my testosterone levels higher than normal. Not unless i'm hitting that bad boy every couple hours for weeks. I also understand that there are certain types of medicine for people with certain medical issues like what Antonio Silva has. I'm pretty sure most of the UFC fighters aren't taking that.

Funny stuff. 75% of them roid. Right. In three years they've only been able to bust Sherk and Chael with all of the random tests, but somehow you figure 75% of them roid.

The next thing you're going to tell me is that Big Country is a roider.

Im pretty sure those burgers were on roids at some point ;)

As for roiding - they dont catch as many ppl because the drug policy is not as strict as for example done by the olympic anti drug orgs where the top atlethes have you give their whereabouts ALL THE TIME. Last time I heard it was not the case with MMA.

The steroids that you and I have taken for our asthma is much different.

75%, I'm pretty confident in that number. What people fail to remember is that steroids have detection levels much like many other drugs. Let's use weed as an example. It can clear a urinalysis or blood test in a matter of DAYS.

Steroids do not automatically make you superhuman, they don't have a "high" like say weed. You smoke weed, you feel high for a period of time IMMEDIATELY afterwards. You inject roids, you do not become a superhuman minutes later.

These guys know they face testing, but they also know they can't maintain superhuman levels of fitness and strength (at their respective weightclasses) forever. Roids are used in cycles, roids will help you get stronger over time, not over night, they cycle, they work out, they begin to cut to fight, they fight, they cycle, they workout/train, they cycle, they workout train, they get their next fight scheduled, and they train and begin to cut for the fight.

Elevated Test may be the only thing they are being tested for, your test isn't going to stay elevated for the rest of your life after you roid, just like because you poked smot last month riding with your buddies you'll pass a test tomorrow, but you still smoked pot, and they still roid.

No, I am not selling roids to anyone, I at one point in my life was a "strongman" competitor and was VERY educated on the topic as I realized I was one of the few guys on the AMATURE level who wasn't roiding. Even in the lightweight class I was competing in (175). I became very interested in the subject and for a short period of time considered the possiblity of becoming a user. Until I used my brain and realized I was a 175 pound athlete doing something I enjoyed for fun and didn't want to risk my health (long term) for such small return.

I knew a lot of roid users, I knew a lot of roid users who were able to work with thier doctor to make sure they were safe, and I knew a few roid dealers and had a lot of discussions with them about who was using and who wasn't locally. I'm not saying it's impossible to make it to the top with out roids, I am saying that it's highly unlikely that the UFC is devoid of steroids and highly likely 75% of them are using.

Just watched Best of Pride. Man, PRIDE was the shizzle. I wish there were more fights in the ring. No hugging, no stalling. If fighters stalled, they could get yellow carded and 10% of their purse taken away. UFC should do that crap. I didn't see the recent fights, but i heard there was a ton of stalling going on. Why the hell are so many people just trying to outpoint each other instead of trying to actually finish?

The entertainment value was also raised by skill differances (the sport was younger) and weight differances (open weight turnament) but yes I agree. I really hope that Danas Twittanger will last long enough to enforce some changes.

So, is DREAM pretty much PRIDE in another life? I think if i had HDnet, i'd be back to watching that stuff and just skipping over UFC. Although the next one coming up is going to be good. I'm hoping that scrappy mexican can defeat Lesnar. Gonna be a good fight.

I don't see Hardy being finished. And we know he can take a punch. I like his style. Take one to throw a better one. They're saying Hardy's has the potential to be FOTN. I'll go with Hardy. Somehow, he made it 5 rounds with GSP without getting subbed or knocked out. That's pretty impressive. I can't think of someone that Condit has beat that's Hardy's caliber.

wow...I just watched a few of Nick Diaz fights (most notably gomi and noons I) and I have completely changed my opinion of him.

I still think he can't talk his way out of a wet paper bag, but he's got my vote for whooping KJ's ass during the second installment of their rivalry. (If for no other reason than that nasty sh*t he pulled on gomi!!!!!!)

i remember watching that fight live. The cut under his eye was so friggin huge. At one point in the fight you see Gomi point to his eye and talk to the ref because he thought the fight should've been stopped. That's when Nick caught him. Did that crazy choke with the shin and leg behind the head. Never seen anything like that, and probably never will again.
I don't think Nick is going to have any problems with Noons. Noons isn't any good on the ground. Diaz is hella good on the ground and standing.

She's way better looking than that sista that's working with her. She also looks better than Edith did too. She's about the only ring girl that's actually stayed with the UFC for a while now.

well Arianny Celeste got naked, im not impressed. she should have stayed clothed
Finally stumbled upon the Arianny pics. Man, i feel bad for you if you don't like hot naked women. I'm glad I like hot naked ladies.

Anyway, GO CAIN!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, can you believe that Hardy got KTFO?! Didn't see that coming. And that Sass dude is one hell of a good BJJ guy. That's how all of those BJJ guys should be fighting. They should be aggressive from the guard, instead of waiting around so much.

I loathe Bisping...but I like Hardy...what the hell?

I suppose I like the crazy-ass side of Hardy and hate the loud mouth side of Bisping...Hendo rocking his sh*t was the highlight of my year. Go Condit...

Don't remember too much of the fights as I was 3 sheets...

Lesnar winz by 3rd round sub. I'm thinking armbar or something...
Shields will walk through Kampmann
I can't believe Ortiz is back in the cage...but whatev.
Gonzaga over Schaub
No real thoughts on the rest of the card, but will watch with interest to see who bloodies the mat the most before the main event.

I was bummed for Hardy. I like him. I like his style. Takes a punch to throw one.
I also loved when Hendo jumped down on BIsping and jacked him. That was great.

I'm gonna say Cain, round 2 FTW. Should be an interesting fight.
I hope Kampmann beats Shields. I hate how Shields is a BJJ black belt but just lays and prays.
Ortiz, blah. No care.
Gonz will beat Schaub.

I saw an upcoming fight card. I guess Roy Nelson is scheduled to fight Carwin. Oh man, that's going to be interesting.

Im on the fence with Cain vs Brock.
Id like for Kampmann to beat Shields but Shields will prolly win
Ortiz has no will to fight so Im sure even he will be suprised if he wins
Id like for Gonz to win but he tends to fight with no gameplan and doesnt have the best chin. On paper he is champion material yet somehow he is not there. That makes me worried. Schaub may be weaker but if he is lucky he may win. Though he doesnt have the best chin either.

UFC 125 - New Year's Day

Edgar vs. Maynard
Carwin vs. Nelson
Guida vs. Gomi
Leben vs. Stann
Nate Diaz vs. Dong Hyun Kim
Vera vs. Thiago Silva

Should be some fun style matchups for sure.
Edgar/Maynard=two guys that will want to outpoint each other for 25 minutes. In other words, lame.
Carwin/Nelson-Nelson is gonna get hurt. Carwin will have cardio and Roy is going to get knocked out cold.
Guida/Gomi-Could be interesting. If Gomi doesn't beat the caveman on the feet, he's going to lose because Clay will just lay on him and hold him there for the decision.
Leben/Stann-Leben will win by knockout
Diaz/Donger-Interesting since Donger will want it on the ground, but he'd get subbed by Diaz. Diaz by TKO with all of his goofy punches. It's like throwing those sticky fists that you grab papers with.
Vera/Silva-Silva via KO.

I can't wait for the fights tomorrow.

I'm joining this discussion a bit late but...

I was a Johnny Jones fan for a bit before he joined UFC and I still maintain that he will be the most revolutionary fighter of our time. So unorthodox yet still fast and precise, with a reach that could right-cross the moon. I can't wait to see what happens next in that young man's career.

Wow. Cain beat the crap out of Lesnar...
Big up to Brock for being so humble after the fight, people who were booing him out have no clue about mma or ma.

Now, who the hell are they gonna find take the titel from Cain?

Edit after watching Shields,

That was a questionable one... I would have given it to Kampmann..
