I just bought some 175mm Saint cranks for my 07 V10, after reading through posts it seems that most people run the 170mm. I am 6'3" and ride a large will there be any problem with running these longer crank arms? What are the pros and cons of running a 5mm longer arm? I should of read up on all this before I purchased them! Thanks

Well, a longer crank arm gives more leverage for every pedal stroke, giving you more power. Even though as you know pedaling in downhill is important it is not as important as clearing a rock garden/technical section fast. This is where short cranks come into play. they allow more clearance over obstacles and you can pedal in some things you might not be able to with a 175mm crank set. I have heard of people running 165mm happily. Go for the shorter crankset, especially if you are riding a V-10 like it is meant to be ridden.

I ran 165's on mine and still hit my pedals occasionally (which is true of any modern DH bike), but I'm sure you could get away with 175's. You may have to be a little more cognizant of where your pedals are in certain situations, but I wouldn't think it would be that different. Plus, that era V10 is a little taller than say a drilled DHR or Sunday, so you should have a little extra room to play with (unless you're running 50% sag or something).

i run 170's and always will, the 175 doesnt allow my pedal stroke to spin, the 165's dont give me the amount of torque i want when cranking really hard, so the 170's fit me perfect, ive heard of people running 160's but i think it all comes down to personal preference

Not to be a dick, but I would love to put different length cranks on your bike and have you tell me which is which.
