Riding the baggage carousel.
Discuss.

We bought a fake one this year despite my prior assertion that a fake tree was the sign of a commie. Gotta say I'm pretty happy so far.

I've got a fake $25 one I bought at Walmart. It goes up Christmas Eve and comes down ASAP afterwards. If my brother didn't come over with his kids on Christmas Eve, I would not put the tree up. I do it for the childrens.

I'd rather have no tree than a fake tree.

We don't do any tree these days because we spend a week around Christmas up in NH. Seems like a waste to put up a tree and not be here on or even around Christmas.

I do miss the event of selecting and cutting down a tree in the snow. It was always one of my favorite things to do around Christmas.

There was a new story on the other day about nurserys "renting" christmas trees. They are various sizes, potted and you can rent them for the season or as little as a day.

Liz and I have a fake one. This is our third Christmas using it, and we like it. It's pre-lit too. Eventually we'd like to get a real tree, but not until we own a house.

The lady wants to get a real tree. This is the first time I will have actually bought a tree. I did the sappy thing for my girl and bought 'our first xmas tree topper'. Going to marry this one, so making it a good xmas is in my best interest.

Real for us. But every year I hate putting the lights on a little bit more, so it may only be a matter of time.

And squeeb, you were a Commie long before you bought a fake tree.

L & I are reviving the x-mas cacti this year. trees are expensive & messy but drivin to the country to cut one down sure is fun.

Im over here now
we just bought a new, fake, pre-lit tree. pretty fancy too.
we usually save the real tree for my parent's house where we usually spend Xmas and let them deal with the mess. plus i think our 3 dogs might take a interest in eating some pine needles in our house.
i went back to my parents house one year and they had a fake white tree and that didnt fly with my. i went out on Xmas eve and bought a real one. fake trees are one thing, but fake white trees is where i draw the line

my fake tree is white. I was skeptical at first, but it actually looks really nice once its decorated. I'll post pics tonight.

Real, cut our own from the tree farm. We got a small ghetto fake tree last year when we was in the ghetto, but we will rock a smallish real tree this year.

Mad Dog put the fake tree up last week and the orange minion has had a field day with it. It has the smaller plastic ornaments, so she doesn't break anything.

We've been doing the real tree thing since we bought our house six years ago. This year we found a tree farm where every tree on the lot was the same price, none of that charge by the foot nonsense. This is the first year we have a tree proportionate to our vaulted ceilings and it is awesome.

Fake indoor, planted a blue spruce in the yard, decorated it with dried fruit, popcorn and bird seed coated pine cones for decorations.

Real from a local tree farm. Didn't have one till we got a house, though, as our ~500' illegal basement apt that we lived in previously was enough of a death-trap without a dry, easily-flammable Christmas tree.

Had real trees when I was growing up, and a few years ago my parents switched to a fake one because my mom hated vacuuming up all the pine needles after the tree was thrown out.

BigT and I rock a fake prelit tree. Got it for $17 after her first christmas here.

I'm doing a stocking too. This year it will be RHCP style tacked to my bellybutton, filled with a sausage candycane for some lucky elf.
not going to hang yourself from one as a live decoration?

i dont remember Clark being a masked robber though
;)

it was in the teens with a sub-zero wind chill and, in the rush to gather up all the kids' winter gear, i left my jacket and gloves on the kitchen table. soo...it was just me, my hoodie, my turtle fur neck gaiter, and the cheapo hunting gloves i snagged at wally world on the way up :D
