hello guys I am new to all this I live in a thirdworld country and as expected downhill doesnt exist here :(

Just wandering is it better to build your own bike? money wise
or is it just better to buy one like specialized or something

What do you recomend.. I have like 700 dollars to spend

If downhill doesnt exist, why do you want a DH bike? If you do want 1, for 700 the only thing i can think of is a specialized bighit SPEC which they dont make anymore, i would try used first and foremost, bikes dont hold value well, take advantage of that.

i would go used, i cant think of a bike you can get new for 700 thats full suspension, you can get a hardtail, but than your more into dirt jumping than DH

Assembling a bike from parts is expensive, even if you spend a good deal of time searching for the best prices. You also need special tools and the knowledge to build the bike from scratch. Perhaps with hi-end components you can really save money, but I seriously doubt it.

In my experience, a second hand bike will give you the best stuff for a given bugdet, and it will be ready to run with minor adjustments. Of course, you must have a certain knowledge of things to know what you're buying.

With such budget for a DH bike, get a nice 2nd hand hardtail. Unless it was a real bargain, you're far from the minimum cash required for a decent full suspension.

However, if you just plan on doing some light descents and such, then you can find full susp. for that price. The problem may come if you buy and XC/enduro bike and start going down hard... because things will begin to break and, in the end, you'll have to rebuild the bike.

I bet if you keep your eyes out long enough, and maybe save a bit, you can find an old bighit, kona stinky, bullit, or dirtbag. Any of these bikes are plenty capable to get you stoked on the sport. The only other thing, depending where you are, you'll have to account for some expensive shipping.

You're at the right place to find connections or good deals in the classifieds.. Can you tell us about where you're from?

finding the place is not the problem, finding people that do DH here is difficult
