Can't find that 26" of love, so here goes!

Got me a 21.5" Riot that a buddy gave me. I'm the fourth owner, it's dented, rusty, rawed, and had the brake mounts poorly sawed off. Warranty? What's that? It's also winter in Toronto, so I figured I'd have some fun.

Here's the result:

I like having unique bikes (testing one of the first Snafu Crenshaws and owning and breaking a unique NS Majesty colourway does that to you), and this frame just wasn't cutting it for a few reasons. The dropouts were bent and long, chainstays were, at 15.5", a bit too long for me, and the brake mount removal was just disgusting.
So here's what I did:
-Trimmed 1cm off the seattube. Make it look cleaner, save some grams, drop the seat a bit, and since I literally just jam the flared pivotal post in there I had to leave some material above the weld.
-Slotted in the dropouts by about 5mm. Now sitting at 15.25" slammed.
-Cut about 16mm off the end of each dropout. Why? Cleanliness and uniqueness. One was incredibly bent so I kind of had to. Then I added some soul and reshaped what was left some.
-Took off the cable guides
-Completely removed the remnants of the brake mounts
-Took out that brace between chainstay and seatstay. Not doing much with no brake, is it?

I think that's it. Here's some details:

24.38 pounds built up bombproof.

Looks great, nice job. I have a Riot as well, so a couple questions for you:

What size rear tire?
What's the gearing?
How did you slot the dropouts?

Thanks!

Rear tire is a Maxxis DTH 2.15", kevlar bead. Even with the drops slotted in I still have tons of clearance. Great tire too, just like a KHE Mac but burlier and about half the price.
Gearing is 28:12, no halflink. I calculated it using this site. Very accurate I find, if you're looking for a slammed ratio look no further.
To slot the dropouts we used a grinding stone with a 10mm diameter and basically just went slowly and carefully. Another technique I've seen that ends up looking good is using a drill press, drilling a 10mm hole and then joining it up to the rest of the dropout with a dremel/file.
The entire frame was done with a dremel, I should add.

kidwoo: I prefer riding with a brake, but if the previous owner took off the mounts, might as well run with it!

BMADED: Thanks, and this seat actually feels high to me. Coming off of this.

v-digit: Thanks!

Very nice restoration. Not that big a deal but the question popped in my head, how did you come up with .647?

Pretty sick, it looks hella bomb-proof...

Hmm, Am I going to experiment with my '09 Riot? It already has a lot of scratches and a good ding from a f'ing lamp falling on it (of all things). Shorter chainstay is appealing also.

btw, your seat comment is hilarious, I couldn't imagine a seat much lower until i saw your example. sweet!
