not in Whistler anymore :/
anyone here with some experience on american classic wheels? their new all mountain wheels are extremely light, yet they claim them as "durable for extremes such as drops, rough terrain and high speed". at 1546g and tubeless ready they look like a good alternative to the carbon haven/edge wheels. so, what reputation does this company has?

The old version of the rims were the same as the Syncros DS28 I think... if so the rims are pretty stout and stand up to some decent abuse.

I've seen a few freewheel failures and bearings going south on the hubs. Low engagement as well. Not impressed.

I've had two sets of the superlight XC wheels that had these issues... They are definitely light though, and its been a few years since I've owned those wheels so maybe they are better now.

Though I never had problems, there were complaints about freehubs and bearings years ago. 2010 saw a redesign and I haven't heard complaints since. They are standard engagement so you may not like them if you've gotten used to high engagement.
