Should I trash this tire.

Have a tire with less than 10 rides on it... Specialized Captain control... was weeping Stan's through all the diagonal running threads on the sidewall. Never had a tire do this. Of course I've only been running stan's for about 6 months... but still. Seems odd.

Man.... You and the big S have all sorts of issues. Don't trash it. Take it to your local dealer and get a replacement. Specialized has a lifetime "satisfaction guarantee" on all their tires. We replace tires for customers all the time.

I have a beef with their sworks tires for sure. The shop warranteed like 5 for me in the span of like 3 weeks. All torn sidewalls... I swore off them, but this was an "I need a tire now" purchase and they recommended the control since it's tougher. No tears, but the stan's is weeping through like white condensation.

collateral damage from your recent quake & ice age?
I think my brakes suffered from the ice age. Went to hop on the Epic yesterday and both levers squeezed all the way back... I bled them last night and there was a ton of air in the system. Does DOT fluid freeze or expand significantly when the temp drops below 0?

NOTE: Rode the bike just before the freeze and they were fine.

Is this tire a 2bliss model?

If not, you want to get that one. You should be able to get the same tire with the 2bliss... that will work better....... Also, try the Speccy sealant for those tires over the Stans fluid, it does work better for their setup

Yeah, we actually add antifreeze to our brake fluid here in the great white north.

IIRC, aren't Spechy tires made by Kenda? Kenda's made it clear that running Stans in their tires is baaad...
I'm not sure. But like dirtymike said, run the 2bliss versions and you should be all good. I run nothing but Specialized tires and have had great luck and have been super impressed with my current setup. Mavic crossmax wheels with eskar 2bliss front captain control 2bliss rear. I even use stans instead of the specialized sealant. tires have held air all winter too. :-)

Sounds more like an issue with the Stans than the the tire.

My expereince has been the Stans loses it's sealing properties after 6 months or so, especially in the cold. I had small holes in both front and rear start bubbling Stans on a cold rides in December. Changed out the Stans for fresh Stans and everything is fine.

Yeah, I just use what's in the kit... DOT 5. I only bleed my brakes when they need them which is seldom, so I still haven't used up all the DOT fluid that came with the kit.
What brakes do you have? Most brakes that use DOT fluid use 4 or 5.1. Dot 5 will eat the seals on most brakes.
