I know nothing of the logistics/procedures for selection/qualifying, but I have to ask the obvious. Why no Gwin?

Mullaly? Rude? Riffle? etc. etc. etc.

there are many questions to ask and like always we will probably end up with zero answers.

This event has always been looked at as a way to get UCI points to compete in world cups. Most of the big names (Gwin, Strobel, Riffle, Neko, etc) are on UCI trade teams and don't need the points.

The rest of us have to accumulate 20 UCI points to race world cup events on our own, or petition USAC to race for USA at every event.

Continental Championships provides the second highest UCI points for any race (the first is world champs) and it usually isn't attended by most of the big world cup pros. ie, it's an "easy" way to get the UCI points.

still, the rest of the course looks pretty rad. Seems like some pretty big gaps in there, and some tight take offs that could be tough to negotiate at race speeds. Should make for some good footage...

just got finished watching the live feed for DH! a colombian killed it 3:12! I think mitch Ropelato was in 3rd with a 3:21. For better results wait for the official results to come out. This is just what got out of listening to the spanish announcer.

sorry for the inaccuracy :thumb:
