Finally a weekend of good weather and a good crowd. I think there was 8 riders from Ohio and I metup with 5 more, 4 were from Maryland.

The new Snakerock v3.0  the old snakerock was like my comfort trail. I finally had it all dialed in and didn't have to think, cause thinkin and ridin is hard! I haven't seen that much fresh dirt since I had a garden in 1993. Funny thing was SR v3.o was the least muddiest trail that we rode??? Definitely alot more nar and sharp turns/switchbacks to be had. Can't even imagine the amount of work that it took:eek: I guess after 30 or 40 runs it'll be comfortable again. All sarcasm aside - the 3 or 4 of you made a completely different and excellent trail. Funny, being a WR noob, I would have never seen the lines ya'll cut.

One question profro, do you have plans to include the "Jawbone" jump with another trail - always liked that drop.

It wasn't until the end of Old Windmill I remembered reading that there was not an end yet, so we hiked it back to SRv3.0

3 or 4 chainsaw size trees down on Windmill

I was wondering how today was gonna be. I was thinking about joining the Ohio crew but just didn't have the funds. We rode our local DH and it was actually almost totally dry! Hopefully you guys didn't have too much mud at the 'rock. That place can be sketchy when wet.

Cool. Glad it got ridden. We spend hours just walking before ever put a tool in the ground.

We will open back up Bedrock and take that to Jawbone. Bedrock turns off just before the Earnhardt drop.

We all had other engagements this weekend but well be back at this week to get finished up.

100-150% improvement in fuel economy vs 14% higher fuel costs (that's assuming diesel is $4 and regular gas is $3.50 which probably isn't too terribly far off). I'll take it! ;)
Gas was almost 30 cent cheaper in Tn. than NC. this past weekend.

I wanted to thank everyone involved in cutting and maintaining trails at Windrock! I have ridden all over the East Coast and beyond, and this is by far the best DH that can be had! Please email me at dcginsburg@hotmail.com if there are races or special events happening there.

Also wanted to thank Randy and Brett for shutteling us Baltimore\DC guys on Saturday. Another shoutout for Capt. Tom's BBQ...that alone made the trip worth it.

Thanks. Most of the work was done over the years by Joey Bridges, Terry Jeffers, Mark Webb, and Brian Poston. No matter who is building we have always been very careful to not half ass anything. Sorry for the jump thing on Starting **** that is in a half way condition. It didn't really jive in that location and is coming out. We'll try to get that section of trail back to its original flow.

The only event we have is the fall festival. Its typically the 3rd Saturday in October. That might change this year depending on when the ATV jamboree is. I'll never do our event again on the same weekend. Yuck.

There will be a few folks out the first weekend of April.

Nothing like multipe 30 foot box trailers trying to steal your turn around every 30 minutes (BS'ing about "no trailer brakes" on brand new toy haulers).

I think you guys should name the Spring one something and make it a festival too.

Oh, and Kenan, I was just refering to the difference between SC gas prices and NC. Congrats on your latest tinker toy!:thumb:

To be honest the Fall Festival is a huge undertaking that I do by myself. I don't mind doing it once a year, not twice.

Not sure which jump you are referring to, but then again I am a bit fuzzy on the trail names.

With all your restaurant connections you could always convert it to veggie and drive for nearly free. Again the hard part will be removing the Obama and rainbow stickers.

Oh, I understand that. I'm not saying any effort at all. Just pick a weekend and name it something. Then everybody will show up. Naming it just draws 'em in.;)

The "Windrock 2011 Epic Weekend of Death Defying Downhill & Debauchery Fest".

Your only phone call will be to tell Captain Tom to throw on an extra briscuit.

Butch, you are not really helping.

I'm not naming it anything because I don't want anyone to expect anything.

There will be no supplied shuttles, do not expect all trails to be clear or even open and expect dead fall to be down.

Debauchery = means to seduce or an orgy or to corrupt by sensuality:eek:
