Think of it this way... if they kill themselves they will have done so BEFORE they have bred! Win/win! :thumb:

We should all be encouraging teenage idiots to ride without helmets!

I don't know either of you but I get the impression that won't ever matter.
Long story short, I wear a helmet when I ride. Regularly.
Just pointing out why you guys have no idea.
you said that when street riding, you're usually just out going from place to place with a wall ride or whatever in between getting soda's. the guys in that video are not cruising around they are taking pictures/getting video footage. I was one of the guys in these videos, spending six hours or so a day trying to make a name for myself by killing myself. I wore no helmet. I currently have friends that are in the videos/magazines you and others buy. they travel the world killing themselves on small bikes. they wear no helmets.

I know exactly what I'm talking about.:thumb:

Those are not all teens. teens can and do breed. Some of those guys probably have kids already.

I think we should fill their skulls with candy and small toys. BMXer falls? Grab a pack of Smarties and one of those mexican cup/ball toys. Awesome!

A liver from a BMXer? Ehhh... Kind of a crap shoot if you ask me. Might be worse than the one I've already got!
seriously.

I knew some hardcore bmx dudes in college, guys that rode for Kink, etc. I would see them frequently as we knew a lot of the same people and would sometimes ride with them. They were nice guys, don't get me wrong, but their riding reflected their attitudes, and that was of general disregard for anything but having a good time. They would party their asses off and enjoyed fighting. One time we had a party at my place. It was an on campus townhouse, and since we lost our 4th roommate we got assigned a random. Total hipster dude that was full of himself. Anyways, at our party hipster roommate thought it was a good idea to break a beer bottle over the head of one the bmx riders. Hipster roommate wound up with two black eyes. He would've gotten a broken leg too if myself another roomate (street mtb dude) hadn't intervened to stop it. Long and short of it, these kinds of bmx dudes are basically out of control at all times.

The guy at 0:26 and 0:35 (Sean Burns) I went to school with him in 2002. Pretty soft spoken guy from what I remember. Last I saw him I was at skaters edge in MA and ran into him around Christmas time 08/09.

Anyone I know that has met or ridden with Burns has said the same thing. Very quiet and respectful dude. But that doesn't sell parts, so the image seems to have taken over.

Yeah we had (of all classes) a computer class together and I had no idea he even rode at the time and one day during break we started talking and he mentioned how he rode for FBM at the time. When I saw him at edge years later, he looked exactly the same and was doing HUGE 180 gaps down the stair set there.
One thing I liked about that park is the level of talent that always shows up, like "Rocko" throwing huge 360 double whips into the foam pit and just about landing them.
Another guy was doing massive flairs with a full on 4x hardtail bike...

All those girls wear full protective gear. And when they crash, it is into soft dirt.

I guess they like their original teeth.
Thats a great pic! Love the different styles in the air. Thinks it's Graves on the yellow Yeti

a thread like this is why bmx guys think quite a few mtb dudes are beat...these guys progress OUR sport as well there is tons of bmx influence...helmets aren't part of the culture who cares...

no one talking about what great riders they are? seriously...

this whole helmet argument is stupid, ive talked to people about some of the stuff i do on my bike and the first question is do you wear like every pad known to man. the answer is always no its pretty much the same thing as them not wearing a helmet its there choice.
