I'm not even a parent and I know of multiple threads about those damn things.

Buy a regular bike and take off the pedals; put 'em back on after your kid starts coasting all over the place with his or her feet off the ground.

Though I will admit $40 seems like it might be a decent price for a bike without a drivetrain :p

Its difficult to find pedal bikes which will work for small children. The push bikes they can use really early. The Strider my son has is also really light which makes it more fun for him too. $40 is an amazing price though.

I'd love for mine to have that Like a bike with the shock and hand brake like the one little kid at Whistler uses.

I did the pull the pedals off the little bike and it works fine. The difference is it won't roll as far as a push bike since it still has the resistance of the rear hub and coaster brake.

Push bikes will zip around way faster. It would be the difference of putting a 10lb weight on the back of an adult bike.
